People are Jerks

Image result for Jerks IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A FESTIVE DAY; Friday; Cinco de Mayo; Sunny weather; Happy Hour beckoning; May delights; the Kentucky Derby is Saturday. It is not.

Personally, I still feel like crap. My back is better only the pain has detoured from the back to my legs. It sucks royally. I'm a lot better than I was a few weeks ago but I'm cranky mostly because I have zero pain threshold and I'm being screwed with by the medical gods.

Another thing too. People here are jerks. Real, honest-to-goodness JERKS. Most especially media people who seem to think they're on some high horse. An ego the length of the new, Salesforce Tower.

Keep in mind I don't enjoy interaction with most media people because they're self-centered assholes who are lucky to be working and making a living and not heavy lifting. I've run into most of them in this area --not necessarily because I wanted to but only because they insisted on meeting and offered to buy lunch. Fine, I'm on, I can be bought (slightly kidding) but I've never kowtowed to local newsreaders and entertainers simply because they paid the bill. They understand that I'm a journalist and have to keep within the 415 Media ethics rules which are very strong and followed closely by Ben Fong Torres and Jan Wahl. So I have to be careful.

I was talking about jerks. God, there's a lot of jerks in the Bay Area. What I mean about jerks are those who have a very high opinion of themselves and like to talk about it all the time and talk about nothing else (like me) or simply who are in a bubble and even if the world is coming to an end or really serious news dominates the domain all they care about is their own ego or situation ...god, what a bunch of jerks!

The worst thing are these jerks are so enamored with their ego they could care less about the rest of the world and what's going on. They end up being KGO Radio talk-show hosts and foodie chaps. I'm supposed to be neutral with these a-grade dickheads but not anymore. Time's up. The cat is out of the bag. There's a new sheriff in town and his name is Da Lin.

  1. I told Jan to stay away from my diner 6 years ago, but she won't listen. She thinks the buffet table is just for her.

    2. 10:04 Am, Hmmm. Good idea.
      One quick question;
      Do you spell Dummies with an 'S' or with a 'Z'?

  3. People suck, which is why I try to have as little to do with them as possible. The world is a scary and shitty place filled with fuckheads.

    1. 3:09 well, that might be a bit of an over statement but in general you are correct. Having retired from 32 years in the semiconductor industry I can attest to that area being full of A grade, arrogant, know it all dickheads who think (actually know they are ALWAYS correct and why don't the rest of us get with the program). I am so fortunate to have all that crap behind me so now every day is a vacation and no one tells me what to do. Cheers.

  5. Yes, the Bay Area is absolutely loaded with smug, self-centered jerks who are rude and selfish. On a plane to North Carolina on Tuesday to look into relocating there. Had it with this place. Only good things about it were granted by God (great weather and proximity to so many beautiful place) -- as the people, in a very large degree, suck.

    2. 7:01. Typical smug, self centered and arrogant response. You're Exhibit A as described in my first post. Congratulations. You must be some treat.

      Meanwhile, the Raleigh area's just a great place to live. With your lousy, arrogant attitude -- I'm glad you'll continue to stay in this overcrowded cesspool.

    3. @7:01. False. Did you confuse N.C. with your family?

    4. @11:34 and 7:01 My life is better than yours. You couldn't make it living in the Bay Area. That's why you have to live in the racist state of NC. Your life sucks and you know it. Search your feelings. You know it to be true.

    5. You actually both sound just like each other. That's the irony of the whole thing. Red/Blue, Black/White, Gay/Straight, same rant, different themes.
