Fake News

Image result for fake news *ARMSTRONG and GETTY are truly heroic and entertaining radio hosts with compelling, hysterical, wildly entertaining content. They should be in the Radio Hall of Fame.

*Ronn Owens is the most sincere radio talk-show host in the Bay Area. No ego, no self-centered ness, not an ounce of outlandish behavior, a voice of reason.

*Jan Wahl is a relative breath of fresh air and her movie reviews offer hope and inspiration. Jan is a theatre literate individual with straightforward, humanistic film reviews devoid of syrupy jabberwocky --the Mother Teresa of critics, what a joy to listen to on KCBS.

*If you looked up "Chef Ryan Scott" in the dictionary, you'd find the word, "genius" next to him. Chef Ryan and 15 minutes of pot roast recipes. Pure heaven.

*Brian Copeland is the glue that sticks the next generation of KGO Radio together. If Brian and Ronn Owens are not the greatest radio guys around, I'm Queen Latifah.

*Liam Mayclem, the foodie chap on KCBS and KPIX? Call the Pulitzer people!

*Ross Palombo is the Walter Cronkite of KTVU News.

*Heather Holmes is the Diane Sawyer of KTVU News

*If Reggie Aqui keeps this up he could eventually be the Eric Sevareid of KGO-TV.

*Determined, passionate, unrelenting; the sports version of Woodward and Bernstein: Kate Scott.

*Aaron Pero is a thoughtful, distinguished, humanistic TV News journalistic GIANT: his leadership not only bond the good people at KRON, but the entire Bay Area. What a nice man, a sensitive fellow with compassion and virtue. You just want to cuddle with him.

*Dear Mike Anthony: Your genius has KGO on the rise. I respect your pragmatism. You, sir, are my God.

*Dear Chip Franklin: You are the Arthur Godfrey of our time. Your professionalism and sales technique are the cornerstone of true radio crafting. I'd eat a bottle of toenail fungus for you; I'd swallow a MyPillow for you; you, Chip, is the reason I live life for, you are my inspiration.

*Allen Martin and Melissa Caen are Peabody material talents at KPIX. If you say otherwise, you are my enemy.

*Da Lin: Every time I watch him the only thing that comes to mind is he's the Asian Larry King.

*Damon Bruce: spontaneous, unrehearsed, loving and careful. Simplicity in its purest form.

*Ethan Bearman: A true legend. Art FinleyOwen Spann? Jim Eason? Who?

*Brian Murphy and Paulie Mac: They are warm and fuzzy. They make you want to hug your radio.  They exude hope for all of us. They are just, well, awesome. Yeah, Yeah, Yeah!

*KNBR: You are the sunshine of my life. You make me feel like dancin', gonna dance the night away. The music, the passion, the sports, the commercials, just freakin' fantastic.

*Lee Hammer: You and Churchill are in the same league.

*Gary Radnich: Just a great human being with family values to boot. He is my hope and inspiration every time I visit the Tenderloin.

*Bob Fitzgerald: the smile. The laugh. The unassuming giggle. Just a gem of a guy who really gets it.

*Roberta Gonzales: Joan of Arc lives on at 855 Battery.

*Larry Baer: Larry is a humanist. Modesty and love will reap rewards. You and Ed Lee: awesomeness.

  1. KGO proves to be a textbook example of managerial excellence and proof that a radio station can cost-cut its way to meteoric success, both in listenership and in bottom line riches.

Acute, nearly surgical management skill in determining the needs of the Bay Area community (trucker radio, syndicated shows, comforting paid advertising hours during earthquakes, and remote weather and traffic information) telegraphs to the San Francisco audience how engaged KGO is in their lives.

The McDonald's Crab Sandwich that Top Chef Ryan Scott truthfully worked on is delicious and does not taste like Ass.

  3. It is about time all those listed above receive the praise, respect and credit which is more than well deserved.

I would recommend the Presidential Medal of Freedom for each and every one of them!! Because of those listed we live in a better World and I cannot imagine a World without them!!

    1. If there was an award for sycophancy, Bob Fitzgerald should get it, that is if he hasn't already kissed up to the voters already.

  4. The weather is beautiful outside as Roberta reports while swimming in the water in front of the local 7-11.

Cumulus sells their stations to someone will program all Polka music.

Rich gets a million and can keep the blog going for another 50 years.

    1. Speaking of Da, I'd like to nominate KPIX's Devin Fehely for the 2017 DLSS (Da Lin Swallowed Syllable) Award.

I've thought Da was the champ on dropping the last syllable of each sentence. Sadly, this year he's #2.

Devin drops the last syllable of EVERY word of EVERY sentence.

(A one-way ticket to Buttonwillow is indicated.)

  6. A&G is far better than anything KGO has offered up lately. Go put Chip in that spot and see what happens.
    (Big Thud)
Sure you save money(with free Chip)...but at what cost?
They already yanked Chip off the o'night replay.

Thank God for that. I was stuck with that F**k and his goofy side kicks every morning for 30 min. until 5:00 when A&G came on with an hour of reruns from the day before but it's usually from the end hour so I didn't hear it which is OK, by that time I'm working.

    2. A&G is high-end talk for Fresno or a mid size backward red state city but not the bay area. Smarmy, mostly unfunny jackasses. I have to change channels after a few minutes of their blather. You Cons have so much right-wing radio with KSFO, 860 and now 4 hours of these guys. More propaganda for you to lap up. The bay area is not Texas, and that's where the show belongs.

  7. Matt Keller of KGO was doing a story from the Santa Cruz mountains and filmed his boot in a puddle he stepped in to show how much it had been raining. There should be some kind of award for that kind of on-the-spot, spontaneous reporting.

  9. Is it just me? Does anyone else notice how Bob Fitzgerald-when being a KNBR talk show host-always laughs at his own jokes? This drives me crazy, especially because he's really not funny. maybe it's just me.

  10. Have to say I agree with most of your assessments. Know some of the TV names you mentioned but I rarely watch local news anymore since it's almost a complete waste of time, but I'm sure you're spot on with your assessments there as well. All of those folks would be upset with your sarcasm but guess what? They should be happy you're paying any attention to them at all!

  13. Radnich- again told the audience he had sex with his wife on their 4th date. Of course,as a steady listener I know that changes. Once it was their first date..then it got pushed back to third..now 4th is the "true story".
Trump and Radnich..its now the whole world is reversed thinking and lies are normal.

  14. And KGO's late night John Batchelor Show provides it's listeners plenty of call-in opportunities for a well-balanced live and local discussion of the news of the day ... LOL ..

  15. I can't stand Jan Wahl!! Somebody please gag her! I can't believe companies have her doing their radio commercials when I'm sure there is other talent around. My opinion, she must be pretty cheap. She is so dang painful to listen to I swear I change stations pronto! I change it back & she's still talking! At least she's toned down -- albeit just a little -- her so-called Mae West impersonations. As far as her movie "reviews", she's still stuck on the old Fred Astaire, etc., days. Zero hats for her!
