Where's Ray Taliaferro? Former KGO Talk Host Has Been Silent For Months

 WHERE'S RAY TALIAFERRO?

Friends of the former long-time KGO Radio talk-show host are concerned about the whereabouts of Mr. T. He hasn't responded to e-mails and has been silent for several months.

A friend close to Taliaferro told me it's unlike him to not let associates know he's all right.

His Facebook page is filled with friend request and "thanks" but no word from Ray.

His 77th birthday was Feb. 7th.

We will update when and if we get news.

Here's hoping Brother Ray is OK.

  1. Depression or illness? Either way, Godspeed.

  2. A mutual friend told me, a few months ago, that Ray is spending time in the "North Bay," and that there is a possibility of a biography (book or documentary) in the offing. I have no further details.

I'm happy to say that there was no expression of fear for his health/well being.

  3. Ray Taliaferro is like John Madden; treated like untouchable royalty with little if anything known about their current situation. You say anything construed as negative about either person, it's quickly squelched (Lieberman included with this). How dare you speak against Ray or John. Oh Please. Barf.

    1. Speaking of people that are MIA, where's Madden?? I heard he had a stroke & he's a lot worse off than what people are saying.

  4. 11:18 - agreed. I'm sure Ray is fine wherever he is. Probably in Boreville or Cliche City or Unoriginalville or Snoozetown. What a self-righteous nobody he is.

  5. Believe it or not Rich, I just got confirmation from Ray excepting my Facebook request just yesterday.

  6. I recently read about the death of a young man who shared Ray's surname. A photograph was published alongside the obituary, and he looked a lot like Ray. If it was indeed his son, as Ray used to say: How sad!

  8. Didn't Ray have a short stint on KSCO??? What happened??? Whatever the case, maybe Ray simply needed to get away from it all.

  10. Ray was an exceptional talent on the radio. He made the bay area feel like a very unique, warm place to live. Great commentary and perspective, he was spot on slamming the hell out of those pathetic Conservatives. No wonder he was targeted by Conservative Cumulus. I hope this, along with the death of his son, lead to his becoming depressed. I'm also surprised that he has been asked to resume his radio career by some other station here. We are instead subjected to stupid white guy radio, with his corniness, stupid, immature quips, lousy sense of humor, rambling, shallow commentary.

  11. In the 80's I used to work at a trucking company and would start at 4 am in the morning. I would drive from Richmond to Fremont nd leave my house at 2:30 -2:45 am and listen to Ray on the Radio. I did not agree w most of his views but he always made my drive interesting and I respected him for his knowledge of various subjects. He kept me awake for that hour drive and It was good to know the viewpoint of the far left so I could prove them wrong! lol RIP Ray
