Len Tillem Update: Source: Tillem Will Be Back On KGO Radio Because He Brought in The Money

 Len Tillem...KGO Update

'Da Loyah' Factoid

A knowledgeable broadcast source tells 415 MEDIA:

"Tillem post was a 'good one. There were a couple major local advertisers (one being Pat Vitucci) that spent BIG $$ on his show because he brought BIG returns. It's that simple: you bring in money, they listen. He'll be back soon."

  1. Does KGO or Cumulus have a business plan for the future other than brokered shows and hosts that appeal to a dying audience?

    1. No one in talk radio does. Look at Clear Channel.

KGO is unlistenable all day every day.

    3. Not even Len Tillem can save KGO. It won't mean squat.

  3. Maybe KGO/Cumulus could take a clue from satellite radio. Instead of Howard Stern they have Len Tillen. Maybe they could run him on KGO 24/7. After a sufficient library of recorded shows is available add another 24/7 channel. Rinse and Repeat.

  4. It's obvious that since Cumulus aquired the station that they don't have a clue what they are doing.

  6. How will they promote Tillem's return? If they only promo him on KGO there's no chance he'd ever get an audience.

  7. This new guy Mike Anthony does anyone even know this guy? What has he done before since he was in the Bay Area? I'm guessing he comes pretty damn cheap and has no idea what he's doing. Spent much of my life in Bay Area broadcasting and that was certainly a new name to me!

    1. He is just shocked he has a job. If he kisses Justin and Lee's ass enough and is willing to take a pay cut in 9 months he should hang on to the job. Maybe leave your office and learn people's names, Mike?

  8. Tillem briefly had a show after the KGO firings on AM 910, just like Dr.Bill, but both failed. Lousy signal doesn't help. 910, outside of Alan Colmes, is pretty bad.

  9. Did anyone catch the goof on KGO News on TV 20 @ 9PM - Breaking news ACE Train Wreck in Niles Canyon - the only problem was black screen for five minutes with snippet of cut off report then 15 more minutes of black screen. When they came back up no sound for half an hour although the text feed worked. It sounds like anything to do with the once respected KGO is a mess these days

    1. Come on. If you knew anything about the area, you'd know Niles Canyon is framed on both sides by ridiculously steep canyon walls that make getting a signal next to impossible to get out. Give it a rest, Pilgrim.

  10. Great. The Loyah will be the great savior. How long before he starts whining about doing a show a few times a week? The guy was on re-runs before he got fired on both 910 and 810.
