  1. Twenty minutes? Really? Pathetic.

    KNBR 68--THE Commercials Leader.

At least no Paulie Mac this morning. Murph is better on his own, except when he tries to play with the soundboard.

    1. Listening to KNBR for sports news is like listening to Karel to hear what Oral Diahrrea sounds like. Gary say HOCK!!!!

  3. Thats it... It's official. 95.7 The Game is the LEADER. If anyone is listening to KNBR for sports news or information they are sorely missing out. I'm not saying they're the best in the country but they ARE the best in the Bay Area. And for those who 'can't get the signal' must need new radios. I drive all over the bay and never those their signal.

    1. Nah he's right. It's not even close. I love turning on Ray and Tom when they're talking about Tom's BAC level, Ray's dislike of everything, and then never telling you who they're interviewing.

      Great radio.

  4. Is it even CLOSE at this point what the better station is? KNBR is JUST SO GOD AWFUL! HEY, GARY - HAVE ON SOME WHITE GUYS AND ASK THEM IF CHIP KELLY IS A RACIST!

THEN you can compare Chip Kelly to BILL WALSH!

    Yes this actually happened!

95.7 doesn't give a crap about the teams. They care about the listeners. I still find their dick joke mentality to be annoying but at least they're not kowtowing and kissing ass all day!

HEY RICH - TELL ME AGAIN THAT LEE HAMMER "GETS IT!"

And Bob Fitzgerald. Is there ANYONE worse than that guy on radio or television? ANYONE?!?!? Oh wait, there is, his partner.

Yesterday, I had an afternoon dentist appointment and listened to Fitz/Brooks on KNBR crossing the Dumbarton. After listening to Fitz compliment the listeners for agreeing with him, I was actually looking forward to the dentist when I got there.

    2. He is THE worst.

Radio is bad but he's actually worse in TV if that's possible.

Maybe if you live here you don't know any better but compare all the shows on KNBR and The Game. Is there a show Fitz and Brooks is better than?

    3. No.

      Lee Hammer "gets it."

  5. I was a regular listener to KNBR, but now tune-in for Giants and Warriors games.

  6. I stopped listening to the Murph and Mac morning show. Paulie Mac takes every opportunity to play his own renditions with his terrible voice and constantly tries to show off his rock history knowledge. It is too much. Sadly, his voice isn't any good but he thinks he is. He has made the show very irritating.

    1. That is one of the many reasons I have 1050 on at that hour. Come to think of it, outside of Tobert/Ratto and Giants games (basketball on radio not my thing) there is little on KNBR that is worthy of my time.

    2. Well said anon at 2:59....and Paulie Macs musical "knowledge" is not as deep as he likes to think it is...ore like a homage to "bad taste"..... he actually boasts about being a member of the Kiss Army

    3. I like Tolbert and don't mind Ray Ratto but they are an awful pairing for hosts. Neither of them has any idea what they're doing as far as setting up a segment, teasing, or just a basic understanding of radio. Ratto never should have been given a seat on any radio station. It does not fit into his strengths at all. It's like he's not even a fan of the teams and has no passion about anything.

  7. Here's 9-ers decision I agree with. Living in Pac-12 country, we are all painfully aware of his success as a coach. He's a good one. He's pretty innovative, also, which fits well with West Coast teams.

    1. Innovative as in totally dismissing time of possession for offense and making his defense stay longer on the field than any other in the NFL? Innovative as in getting rid of all his good players for lesser ones? The only good thing about the hire is he doesn't have personnel control. Which I take little solace in considering Baalke's recent moves.

    2. Kelly has three years of NFL head-coaching experience behind him, including two 10-6 seasons, and went 46-7 while tilting major college scoreboards at Oregon, a fact we're trying to forget.

    3. As a ducks fan I'm trying to forget every big game he lost to stanford, SC, ohio st and auburn.

Harbaugh's better, but Kelly's looks pretty close. It should be better than it's been.

  8. I hope he remembers about the onside kick after a successful field goal. That was a good one Alabama.

  9. I play a game every morning with my alarm clock radio. I turn it on when I get out of bed, and if KNBR is in a commercial, I open up my SiriusXM app on my phone and listen to Howard Stern instead.

So, basically, I listen to Howard Stern every day.

  10. I'm sorry to say I gave up on local radio stations long ago. I got an internet radio tuner with 16,000 channels and listen to music I like mostly from Europe. The radio will link any internet radio station with no subscription. It ain't I-heart or Pandora or stinkin XM which refused to cancel until I went to consumer affairs to get them to cancel.

I recently tried to channel the late Herb Caen who I met through my late aunt. We were at the symphony and Herb came up to her to say hello to her!

When I asked Herb about the state of SF News in general both broadcast and in print he said "they are not getting the "Pullet Surprise" like I did!

  12. I like the hire of Chip Kelly because it beats Mike Shanahan who's teams have only one playoff win in the last 14 or so years. Shanahan was a very good offensive coordinator during the 1994 Superbowl run, (George Seifert's last hurrah), but he's not a guy who would have been around for more than a couple of years. Kelly, for all his aloofness, has produced winners in college and the pros.

It's true that yes, last year in Philly, his team was going through a 'transition' because he traded away half the roster to get the team he wanted, but management used the excuse that he was "aloof and difficult for some of the players to work with," and they pushed him out the door.

Fans, media, and especially management, want results NOW, TODAY, NOT TOMORROW! All you have to do is listen to Jed York's last two press conferences. That's A BIG problem with America sports and business in general today: we want everything NOW! RIGHT THIS MINUTE, AND GIVE ME MORE OF IT!

That's rarely realistic. Striving for perfection is great, but ridiculing anything but winning it all or reaping in huge profits every quarter is unrealistic and counter productive to long term success.

Whatever happened to building something, watching it grow, investing in your people and appreciating the effort?

Success rarely happens over night. And sometimes it's not a good thing when it does. Look no further than Colin Kaepernick for proof of that. Three years ago, he took his team to within eight yards of winning the Superbowl. Now there's a question as to whether his career is even salvageable. Perhaps Chip Kelly will be the remedy for Kap, who knows?

    1. If you think Kaep is the reason they were within a yard of a title or that he's good, then you don't know shit about football.

Chip Kelly clearly has communication problems.

  13. Boy, that was an extremely intelligent response, but typical of someone who has to react to something with a quick, profane response. I know a HELL OF A LOT MORE about football than you punk!
