I think that's Belva Davis' husband. KTVU did a segment on him when he retired, and his retirement speech was hilarious. I still remember it about 15 years later.
She got a cameraman friend of mine fired for shooting her from the side (self conscious about her nose, this after he was told another time to 'soften the focus' on her face because she was embarrassed about her acne scars. High-def would do her in today.
I'm not a witch, I'm not a witch! But you are dressed as one! *They* dressed me up like this! We didn't! We didn't... The Witch: And this isn't my nose. It's a false one. Sir Bedevere: [lifts up her false nose] Well? Well, we did do the nose. The nose? And the hat, but she is a witch! Yeah! Burn her! Burn her!
Besides soft focus the studio manager had to install lights in The desk and on the camera that Elaine read to...blaring tons of candle power into her face to "flatten" it out..... Here's a scoop ....she's asked to come back in the 2000's and KTVU/Cox told her "no thanks".
The story that she did from the top of one of the Golden Gate Bridge towers was classic. Got to give her credit for facing up to her abject acrophobia, on camera.
But then Corral had Lieberman-type reasons for leaving the profession. Just read most of Rich's posts the past few years, and you'll see why ol' Elaine moved to LA to act, no matter how small the parts were. Years ahead of her time.
I thought Dennis and Elaine had a dynamic chemistry. I remember the night she made the announcement she was leaving KTVU, you could just feel the shockwaves.
You are correct. That is Bill Moore. He is married to Belva Davis. Bill was a great guy to work with in the field. He knew everyone. And everyone liked him. As for Elaine, she was one of my favorite people to work with at KTVU, and I missed her from the moment she left. I was totally stunned when she quit. I thought my wife was joking when she said Elaine had just resigned on the air.
That's a great photo of her. She's got that lean and hungry look in her face, like she's hunting down her next man. Oh baby, come this way, I'm over here...
I would be more afraid of her cameraman

ReplyDeleteMan, was she beautiful. Sultry and sexy. Is she currently married?
ReplyDeleteThat's a good question, but she's probably fatter than Christine these days.
DeleteNice pic from back in the day. Always looked good and was a solid reporter, anchor.
ReplyDeleteSo Dennis Richmond was quoted: "That sound, that was Mark's and my jaws dropping on the desk."
ReplyDeleteBut then Corral had Lieberman-type reasons for leaving the profession. Just read most of Rich's posts the past few years, and you'll see why ol' Elaine moved to LA to act, no matter how small the parts were. Years ahead of her time.

DeleteIdk...But I think that Camera Man with Elaine is Belva Davis Husband, he worked at KTVU for many years as a Camera Man.
ReplyDeleteElaine Corral was a "Solid" Anchor Woman...Anyone know why she really left KTVU???

ReplyDeleteOnly by herself. The rest of us hated her guts.

ReplyDeletethe Photog is Bill Moore--yes, Belva's husband.
ReplyDeleteBill retired in '96 (or was it '97?) and was a class act.
She's the Wicked Witch of the East Bay.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't she own a restaurant or something in the Livermore area?
