Big Division at KGO-TV Between Trixie and Staff; KNTV Morning Figure Wants Respect; Krueger Can't Carry Morning Show Solo; Armstrong and Getty Infects SF; Morning Launch

 MONDAY LAUNCH

*There exists a rather large division between the people that like Tracey Watkowski and those that don't over at KGO-TV. Normal deal, right? It happens in all newsrooms. Wrong. The ND at KGO thinks she's Athena --the dissenters that call her "Trixie" think she's borderline Nurse Ratched.

*PIX Misery: After the sweeps from November came in, the big suit that has been quiet since his comeback can begin to fathom the possibility he's James Caan with a Kathy Bates soon emerging...

*Over at KNTV (NBC Bay Area) there's a pretty significant player in the morning (off-air) who believes management doesn't give the natives enough credit for morning symmetry --my advice for the suits: upgrade the donuts and coffee for staff. If nothing else, it's a picker-upper.

*Armstrong and Getty: It's a Sacramento-based show that somehow has infected San Francisco and the Bay Area. At the very best it's oatmeal radio.

*Ronnnnnnnn Owens: that was some kind of weird moment with you and your buddy at the Christmas party.

*Speaking of Mr. Softie, his love affair with the 50 year-old housewife in Pleasanton is waning. Even she doesn't call him anymore.

* KRON's Mark Danon: Knows a lot --that's why management won't touch him. So, Pero, stop --it won't work.

*Sorry, Larry Krueger, as much as I detest Raddy, you can't carry the Knibber show from 9-Noon.

  1. A&G are now on in all the big west coast markets (just added LA, Seattle, Portland). Don't get your hate for them, they've got good radio chemistry and while their politics aren't really my thing, they make their case better than your typical right-wing partisans. Usually good interviewers too. To each his own, I guess.

    1. I can't believe these other cities picked them up. Politics aside, I can't get into them at all.

    2. Bingo. Although the segments where their lawyer friend calls/sits in are unbearable.

  2. If you think the Krug is bad by himself, Paulie Mac is just unlistenable. Kate Scott had to bail him out today. Yikes

    1. Thursday morning's Paulie Mac/Jim Nance interview has the potential to be the most awkward segment in KNBR history. Poor Paulie - I wish KNBR would finally get around to firing him only because Gary has at least couple of hours of material on him. I really look forward to that show.

  3. "KRON's Mark Danon: Knows a lot"

Yep, in more ways than one, which is why he's my perennial fave.

  4. Tracey is like that annoying girl in high school who would always raiser her hand first. Her allies (mostly young women who look up to her and want to BE her one day) are fiercely loyal. Her detractors (she has many) can't stand her.

  5. That photo of Louise Fletcher as Nurse Ratchet in "Cuckoo's Nest",
perfectly represents someone on the Death Panel of an unfortunate soul who only has ObamaCare as their sole source of health insurance. Don't look to her for tender feelings or a warm heart.

    1. No such thing as death panels, silly Con. Too much Palin and Rush for you. Obamacare is not perfect, needs some tweaking but has done more good than bad. The Right is pretty pathetic, Un-American and quite ignorant. I hope they NEVER get back in the White House while I'm still alive.

  6. Who ín the Bay Area watches KRON? OK, I do sneak a peak at Vicki L...

  7. Krueger has no feel for that kind of fun, easy going banter with people that Gary excels at. He takes himself too seriously and doesn't know how to laugh at himself. A stiff.

  8. OK, what is a better morning talk show than A & G? Obviously some like them since they keep growing their show. Jack is better than Joe but as a team they do very well together. When they go solo...not so much.
