KNBR 'Dude' Morning Man Courts Kate Scott; Emerging Relationship Creating Quite a Storm

"HEY DUDE, SHE'S MY CATCH!" --This is rather outrageous and bizarre: can you fathom KNBR "Dude" Morning Man, Paulie Mac getting down with sports update chick, Kate Scott? Believe. Apparently, Powlie does because even though Scott has a wife and is openly gay , the dude man--the guy with the fake New Jersey accent who exaggerates his music knowledge is openly courting Scott. It's maybe working. She lovingly refers to him both on-air and off as "my Paulie Mac" so maybe there's hope.

The twosome have openly posed for pictures and were recently seen blowing kisses at a nearby restaurant away from the KNBR studios at 750 Battery Street.

Dude!

Wonder what both spouses think about this evolving HOT! relationship. DUDE!

  7. Whenever I hear people in media talking about how tough it is to break into the business or hold a job, I think of Paulie Mac. Seriously, how hard can it be?

  10. Maybe Paulie is really Paulina the Dudette. If that is the case, I'd bet even Bochy didn't know that! Kate will always be Kate the Terrible.

  11. Where do these childish, intolerant comments come from? Disappointing that people in the SF area so unenlightened and that the moderator posts it.

  13. Why are we still listening to Kuiper and Krukow every other morning? Now that they've thrown the celebration in Kansas City and the MLB free agent list came out, can we please have Tim Roye and/or JIm Barnett talk about the Warriors? I also thought it was great that Tom Tolbert interviewed Raiders' QB, Derek Carr, the other evening. More Raiders, less Niners.

  14. I think Rich's point in his posts this week are more about how smarmy and familial KNBR's morning show is. I don't wanna hear about Kate Scott's recent vacation (heck, I don't wanna hear her no-nothing knowledge of sports and smart ass remarks) or Murph's evening engagements or little league parent friends and juvenile rantings at Halloween parties. Enough! That said, today was okay, talking about Dusty Bakes taking the Nationals job, even it was for the second day, the college football rankings that just came out and the Sharks losing at home. It's just all the other stuff that Rich mentions that is just inane chit chat. I know there's four hours to fill, but what about Cal and Stanford football or the upcoming Pac 12 hoops season (Cal ranked 14th, preseason) and St. Mary's hoops. There's so much more other stuff they could talk about besides Jimi Hendrix or the Dead.

    1. And that's supposed to justify stupid comments from juvenile imbeciles who are titillated by Scott's sexual preference?

No reason you have to like the show but why make preposterous accusations of infidelity? Even if it were true, who cares?

  15. There's another issue here: being homers. What happened to being objective? You've got these two yo-yos wearing Giants gear. There's already conflict because KNBR is a part owner of the Giants.

Never mind the blatant lack of talent and boat loads of sexual innuendo... How about ethics?

But I guess that's the new media these days. Go figure.

    1. Anon@11:14 is seriously confused and makes a misguided comment about ethics.

LOCAL sports guys are not and never were expected to be objective. Of course they root for the local team. Maybe you are confusing them with national broadcasters.

    2. I expect the KNBR hosts to talk local sports, but I also expect them to be critical, which they largely are when they need to be. I also expect them to exhibit some sort of fandom vs. sportswriters, but I cringe when they become homers. At lunch, I was listening to KNBR and Fitz mentioned that he hopes Warriors coach, Steve Kerr, stays away until he's healthy because he and Kerr are "friends." I wonder if Kerr would say the same? It might've been Rich, maybe not, but someone wrote an article a couple years about how Fitz tries to buddy up to the players on flights and they don't want to have much to do with him.

    3. Most KNBR hosts will criticize local teams when they deserve it. Fitz will not. He is a world class apologist for the Warriors.

    4. This is from Warriors World a couple years ago: Cozying up to players is another illustration of Fitzgerald “going overboard.” In the WarriorsWorld article, a former player told Malek, “Fitzgerald is always trying to talk to us on the plane and telling us how he’s got our back when it comes to making sure the right things are said and mentioned about us on-air.”

From another player: “He’s always trying to be our friend and we’re like whatever man, just get lost.”

  17. I am starting to wonder about you Rich. Over a year ago, you said that Cheryl Jennings and Spencer Christian would be gone by christmas 2014. A year later, they are still here. You recently said that Jennings would be moved to doing specials here and there, basically on Sunday mornings or whatever, with the entire morning news team being revamped with the pretty boy and girl. That hasn't happened yet, and Eric Thomas has not gone to working weekends yet either. You have also not said what really happened behind the scenes with Erica Kato, as to why she was booted out of KRON. Speaking of KRON, you have also not said what has happened with Michelle Apon? She seems to have been booted out of KRON as well. I have really appreciated what you do in the past, but you seem to be slipping Rich! I still like ya' though! But if you could please elaborate on these things, such as timing for the personnel changes at KGO, and also, elaborate on what happened with Kato and Apon, it would be great. Thanks!
