The Infamous Walnut Creek Fountain; News Crew Safety; Pre-Holiday Short

THE INFAMOUS FOUNTAIN IN WALNUT CREEK

Destination for Demographic Heaven: White couples in their 30's; the occasional American-born Asian; African-American and people with 850 credit scores.

*When it's hot Live Shot nirvana for TV/Radio reporters to ask various schlums: "Bet you wanted to beat the heat!" (Brilliant conclusion)

*When it's hot at night, get shots of little kids eating ice cream. Always more quaint than the other standby: the shots of the other little kids playing at the community pool.

*The fountain borders Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus which is ground zero for MOS interviews.

Moving on...

*The reason why the news crews from KTVU and KNTV didn't make a big deal about their scary misadventure? Probably didn't want to take emphasis off the real crime that took place the night before: the really cruel murder of Kate Steinli and we applaud them for that even while sharing concern about their safety and well-being.

*Speaking of News Crew safety it's this simple: there really is no solution. Security is costly and too cumbersome. Plus, even with security, the bad guy bandits haven't stopped from attacking various reporters and photographers. And yes, the mayhem doesn't only happen in Oakland.

    Don't forget that's MILF-central as well.

  2. Please give equal credit to the water thingy in downtown San Jose near the Tech Museum that the kids run through on hot days. I guess there isn't a similar frequent water feature shot in San Francisco because it's rarely hot and there's rarely any kids. For SF the best the stations can do is a stand-up shot from Ocean Beach on one or two clearn and warm evenings a year.

    1. I love seeing those first generation kids with the non English speaking parents every summer at the Tech water fountain. I've never seen so many kids interviewed out of necessity as I do during those segments. On Univision, the parents get interviewed.

    2. Its not as fun to mock the San Jose water feature spots because it isn't as "whitebread"... or it isn't PC to do so, something along either or both lines.

Er...Ah....SF also has Pier 39 full of children, & tourist, no water fountain tho, but it does have gorgeous views of the East Bay, GG Bridge, Alcatraz, and the Bay!

  3. It was a terrible murder.

Illegal immigrant from Mexico, deported multiple times, still here. I'm surprised the media (well 1 or 2 outlets) actually reported that because it doesn't fit the Democratic narrative. Maybe Trump was on to something....

    1. Kamala Harris would have put him up in a nice clean hotel if she had her way.

    2. I wouldn't mind being put up in a nice, clean hotel with Kamala Harris.

    3. But the media did report it. Does that bother you because it goes against your media and political bias? Why?

    4. 2pm one or two outlets reported it. Many conveniently left that out.

  4. I find it so telling that they will not describe the suspects. They were black males, but that would skew the current trend, I suppose, of media racial guilt.

  5. Apparently, the SF cops has just let him out of jail. What a shame.

    1. Sounds pretty normal for the SFPD and the DA's office. Such a nice "special" place to call home.

  6. Open carry laws would be helpful here. If a shithead sees that you have a gun, he's not going to mess with you. I can see new opportunities for fashion chic holsters for women and transgenders.
