Take Everything, Including Here, With A Grain Of Salt

Seriously, put everything into perspective.

  1. Well said, Rich; I practice what you preach every day, especially to my dumb-ass son-in-law...lazy bastard.

  2. If, by "grain of salt," you mean media gossip and the occasional Archie Bunker-type comments, sure, that's the name of the game. If you mean approving blatantly racist and sexist comments, then you lose the benefit of the doubt.

This isn't a YouTube or Yahoo! comments section. This is a blog that invites, for the most part, thoughtful and intelligent people, who comment on the media goings-on of the 6th largest market in the country; the only one of it's kind in the area. You lose your credibility when comments like the one in a previous post are displayed.

Rich, many of us have heard you on the radio, seen you in the press box and even worked with you. A grain of salt is one thing, letting Trump-like racists have a platform on this site is something totally different. I'm sure your advertisers would agree. I applaud you allowing a discussion like this and I will continue to read. Thanks for the forum.

    1. La Raza-type racists are still OK with you though, right?

  3. Just 18 more months. Hang tough everybody, there's light at the end of the tunnel and it ain't a train.

  4. I like your blog. A lot. I'm starting to check it out almost as much as the Drudge Report. The only fly in the digital ointment: Why did you change the format and graphics at all? They were not 'broken'. I appreciate that you took those black velvet funereal drapes away, that plus the Tesla Coil Ball Lightening effects.
I understand Rich, that as a creative person, you like to re-create sometimes.
How about designing a special page for particular topics or topic forums.
Christine can have a forum page all to herself, where she can wage word war on all the male troglodytes. You could have a sandwich and deli of the week section.
Couldn't you sell advertising for something like that?
They know middle aged boomers love to eat and talk about what they ate.
Good Luck and Pleasant Day Dreams Rich.
