  2. I miss my cinderblock rotary phone, with the different lights on the bottom, indicating that a call is on hold. I miss being able to loudly hang up the phone as an expression of my displeasure. A cell phone only allows for polite cessation of noise, not a more satisfying SLAM! into the ear of the offending listener.

  3. "We have reports of a firebombing on campus at Sproul Hall, and fire official Ba-Ba-Booey says that reinforcements from surrounding agencies are on the way."

  4. On a different subject, Rich, have you been watching KTVU lately. Ever since the mass layoffs their Ten O'Clock has been a catastrophe of video mishaps, faulty cues, failed prompters, wrong camera moves, and messed-up graphics, like the report tonight on the Embarcadero with the Bay Bridge in the background while the super read SAN JOSE throughout. I've seen better news from college closed-circuit stations, and I'm serious.

  5. Jeffrey Schaub? Last time I heard him was on KGOne Radio. So glad to see him get a new gig at KCBS.

  6. Maybe that phone can be used to get information on the person of interest detained in the fatal shooting of the woman in front of the ferry building last night. A description was given of the murdered woman (white, 31), but not of the detainee.

Why the PC? Doesn't match the narrative?

    1. Brian Copeland and a few callers are being wayyyyy too PC over a KGO commercial this morning that God forbid mentions a black man! Way too PC nowadays, and I think the general public is finally getting fed up with it. Thank God.

  7. Jeffrey Schaub is class act and a fine broadcaster who has had a terrific career in radio and TV. Good guy. I worked with him and it was a pleasure. It gives you hope to see that there are still a few good ones left in our profession!
