Mibach Ascension Gets Him 'Membership' Into Powerful Secret KTVU 'Gold-Card' Club

The ascension of KTVU anchor Mike Mibach is astounding --to the point that the new 4 PM News co-anchor has elevated himself to a mostly confidential but very, very, POWERFUL elite station status update: membership in KTVU's Gold-Card Club.

The club is very secret--only a handful of the station's elite on-air broadcasters even know about its existence ..and those few who do know are eternally mum about its subject matters. Let's just say Mibach has, after 10 years, received the keys to the Jack London Square kingdom --we'll talk about it more specifically in a future post.

  1. Is it the equivalent of skull and bones or bohemian club of local news?

  2. More about KTVU happy talk. Couple months ago Mark Tamayo or Heather Holmes asked Ken Wayne "blue dress or white dress" and he wasn't having it. He said clearly and rather bluntly impatient that he honestly didn't care. Tamayo went into some ramble about Wayne's similar response during a staff meeting (?!) and Wayne said that stuff didn't interest him. What he and Tamayo said suggested he was there to do the job and not BS. Imagine that. Wonder how much longer he will last being a journalist on a show biz news program.

  3. If we're going to trash KTVU, how about trashing them over something deserved, like being OFF THE AIR!!

They have a South Bay translator (on RF channel 48) to provide a stronger signal down here, and it went off the air last Wednesday. That's a full week. But you can't get in touch with these people. Phone calls don't work, as their automated attendant won't connect you to a live person. Their news desk blew me off, because "we have a breaking story!" (Of course you do, the cloud cover broke.) "Contact Us" appears to go nowhere.

So when these mental pygmies get the next ratings book and wonder why their numbers took a hit, have fun explaining to New York.

    1. KTVU did a survey and found only 1 person watching channel 48 in the south bay.

      So they shut it off.

Employees are being instructed to tell the crazy coot to subscribe to cable!

Enjoy the fun filled summer of FOX programming.

    1. It's not that he has huge hands. The toy football he is holding is small.
