  1. This is hardly a surprise, given how companies like Fox, Cumulus, Infinity, Clear Channel and the other 'mega-media' companies have eviscerated local media over the past 15 years since the passing of the onerous communications act. Thy have bean counters and spread sheet guys instead of realy radio and TV people now running the stations. I feel badly for long time employees over at KTVU but it has happened to a lot of other radio and TV vets in this market and around the country. If there is any solace or consolation, look at it this way; you're in good company!

    1. On the other hand, things are about to get better in Boston and Memphis. Cox will increase their news budgets by 50% at least. Plus they'll dump the crappy low rent syndicated shows Fox likes and replace them with much better programming.

    2. uh...no they won't. Cox is the same company that destroyed KTVU.

    3. Destroyed? Apparently you don't pay attention to ratings or revenue.

  3. 4:43: Poach? To where? Are stations going to get into a bidding war for Rob Roth? Amber Lee? Not a chance. How about the great veterans like, um, well, I kind of forgot who because 2 hasn't had them featured on the air in months. This is the end, my friend.

  4. " Plus they'll dump the crappy low rent syndicated shows Fox likes and replace them with much better programming." Seriously, like what? Maury, Trisha, Right this Minute and The Real.

  5. Right This Minute will go away. If you've ever watched it, they have some credits saying it was done by the old owner, Cox. FOX will definitely be getting rid of that for one of its own shows. Trisha has to be the worst damn show I've ever seen. GARBAGE.
