Nancy Snyderman, NBC Doctor Being Quarantined, Former KPIX Medical Correspondent

Ashoka Mukpo
FROM TONY RUSSOMANNO --Regarding news of NBC correspondent, Dr. Nancy Snyderman's cameraman being exposed to the Ebola Virus. Snyderman will be quarantined for 21 days upon her return from Africa.

NBC identifies the cameraman/writer as Ashoka Mukpo and says his father is writer Mitch Levy. The NBC press release does not further identify Levy, but it implies he also worked for NBC. If so, he would be my colleague at NBC Radio News in NY in the mid 70s who continued on with his career there.

Snyderman was KPIX's medical correspondent in the 1990's. She married cameraman Doug Myers in 1993.

  1. I Like it when you post news stories as if anyone actually visits this site for news.

    1. My thoughts exactly. Although I'm shocked Rich didn't put up a "sexy" picture of the doctor with a caption: "Would you still do her?"....

  2. Seriously, if these morons want to die for the cause, let them die over there. The guy with the ebola knew his only chance of survival was coming back to the old USA for treatment. You know what will happen next right? Many more will try to get into USA anyway they can.

I like Dr Nancy but come on, man. What in the fluck was she doing there?

    1. Are anons@8:35 and @9:26 competing for the dumbest comment prize?

We all owe are existence and well-being to "morons" who are willing to die for a cause. We all rely on others who are willing to die for a cause. We don't call them morons when we need their help.

Maybe you two geniuses don't understand the connection between an uncontrollable, deadly disease on another continent and your own stupid lives here in California. Good luck when you go to an emergency room with a contagious disease that is too risky for the morons there to die for.

    2. @1:55 - The "cause" in this case is ratings. It's not like they were over there doing research toward a cure or treating the ill. Nice rant, though.

  3. Just heard a clip of an interview with cameraman Mukpo's father on the 9 AM NPR hourly newscast. He is Dr. Mitchell Levy. Probably not the same guy Tony worked with at NBC Radio. (There is also a Mitch Lebe in New York City radio who worked at the NBC radio network and their local stations WNBC and WNWS/WYNY back then. My guess is Tony's remembering Lebe.)

  4. I was wondering when a network doctor would become infected? Sorry to read it could be Dr. Snyderman and her crew, but jeez how much is "getting the story" really worth?

  5. Why quarantine? Isn't there a test to determine whether she has it or not? And isn't the virus contracted only by direct contact with either an open sore, your saliva, mucous or eye fluid?

  6. Oh,she's probably loving the attention, thinking of the drama of describing the horror on every talk show. Even if exposed means being only in the same part of the country where the poor get infected.
I liked her act when she was pudgy and smiled a lot with Wendy Tokuda..then she dropped 20 pounds with her new network gig and suddenly she was all serious, no sense of humor. It really went to her head. From "DR.Nancy" to "Jonasine Salk".

    1. Sure Stan, nothing mak4es a person happier than exposure to ebola. What a dumbass.

    2. I'm sure Nancy is relieved that resident genius Stan, doesn't believe there's been sufficient exposure for her to worry.

Remarkable that Stan, who can't even write coherent English, is now an expert on contagious disease.

    3. Well, when the 21 days goes by,then you can post "You were right again Stan". Sure you will.
What children you are to think she would risk her life for "CBS this morning". I laugh at you, NOT with you.
I can already hear the piano tinkling as Dr. Nancy tells us of her death defying trip to save Africans" That, and it was a free vacation. She probably never left the pool. The way she tells it? "The chlorine cured me"...!

    4. I will go as far as to say SHE KNEW BEFORE SHE LEFT,when she returned she would be quarantined.
It all adds up a multi episodes of her trip on NBC...standard drama. She never put a finger on any body ill. She is not like those who treat those poor people. She just takes the credit. More for her Autobio.

    5. Thank you Stan for revealing how stupid and totally insane you are.

She went to Liberia because she knew she would be quarantined when she got home and turn her into an enormous star.

    6. Stan's stupidity is boundless!

    7. 906: WHAT? she as a medical Doctor had NO IDEA? ..LOL!. Taken by surprise she would be asked to be quarantined at her summer home in the ghetto of the Hamptons for 3 measly weeks?..She's a saint! lol!..or a really dumb one.
      Ratings and planned .
You people really need to stay anonymous. I'm the only adult.

    8. If Stan is competing for dumbest comments on the internet award, he's got a shot.

Stan is talking about a person he knows nothing, fantasizing about her motives, and constructing an idiotic explanation which says nothing at all about Snyderman but speaks volumes about how twisted his own perception of the world is.

Stan, normal people - people unlike yourself - don't expose themselves to deadly diseases for imaginary fame and glory; particularly because, in spite of what you may childishly imagine, there is no fame and glory associated with being placed in a protective quarantine.

  7. Thanks Obama! His big plan is to continue allowing people from Liberia, the Hot Spot for Ebola virus, to enter this country w/o conditions. This is what you get from your "No Borders" president. His legacy will be our devastation. I sensed he had the typically Socialist Urge to Ruin, level and legislate commonly seen in Dirt-World Dictators. Have you heard that a second wave of diseased illegals is slowly making their way to North American?
How do you Obots like him now? I will have the biggest HOLIDAY when he has been removed from office. I'll party as though it was 1999 at an Armanian Wedding Reception. Armainian Wedding Receptions can last for days.

    1. Party like it is 1989. Do lots and lots of blow. Rock it up and smoke it too! Repeat that process, for days. End up in your own little Dirt-World.

    2. Step away from the Faux News...I sense that you're an RWNJ and don't need their "help".

  8. 11:54 is so hysterical(in the hysteria sense). Firstly, there are only two flights from Liberia to the US..Most flights that go in and out of Africa, originate in Europe. Secondly, there is no test for ebola until a patient is symptomatic. Ebola cannot be transmitted until a person is symptomatic. Thirdly, ebola virus has been in the US before(see your google). Fourthly, foreign travelers are all screened by US customs, even though you believe the President has waived that. Fifthly, if you don't want to get ebola, then don't splash around in the body fluids of symptomatic librarians, errr libertarians...I mean Liberians and other west Africans. Lastly, what is an "armainian" or "armanian" anything?

  9. To "Wiserguy" at 9:12 AM, you are correct. I am so sorry for the mistake! Yes, I worked with Mitch Lebe, and Nancy and Doug. I'll try to edit and correct any postings I made. Thank you for catching this and bringing it to everyone's attention. Very embarrassing, but necessary.

  10. FUNFACT: Dr. Nancy Snyderman is an avowed ATHEIST, and tends to 'look down upon' people who use spiritual faith as a moral guide to behavior. A little bird told me Dr. Nancy may very soon be rethinking that 'religion is for dummiez" attitude.

  11. Once again,I'm far ahead...As the only person in the bay area media to point out that elitist troubles go where "Mo" SJ president goes..he now has saddled San Jose State in 38 million dollars of debt to build an ode to himself and a cozy relationship with a local tech firm. Just as he did at Cal State Hayward with Genentech..not too mention his ignoring of the community. I wrote that here first..and only one.
AND ..I wrote here "Why was Alex Smith told to not wear a Giants hat in 2012,but Kap can advertise Beats?"
Kawamaki or Killion or the best in local sports media asked that question..just me.
If I say the world is going to end...you better worry.
