Gary Radnich Just Said On KNBR That He Left The 49ers Game In The Third Quarter

 At least he's honest.

I've got kids. I don't want to be in traffic, blah, blah, blah, hell why not  just stay home?

Man, he's hysterical.
I know, I know.

  1. Rich, did Dr. Bill retire last night? I heard his show last night was his last & he tore into Karel bigtime. Your thoughts?

  2. Who gives a rat's ass? He probably wasn't in the press box. He was probably in the KNBR suite (I'm sure they have one). The Fat Fool is so irrelevant. He's like the tail end of a crime scene: "There's nothing to see here." I wish he'd go far, far away.

  3. What's up with the fat mans face?

  4. Wish he would leave his radio and TV career in the 3rd quarter.

  5. What gets me is..Radish head has never even pretended to love the nuances of football. So he's not into the art of the game to go watch live. Or even care if the win. Yeah,he's a multimillionaire...with no interest in sports other then on TV.
He must be leveraged to the hilt. Keep breaking those rocks dude...

btw Strangely,Kate Scott never said a single word for the first 15 minutes+. How much do you want to bet Lee Hammer had a talk to her about that episode last week?

    1. So Gary Radnich doesn't even pretend to love "the nuances of football." Boo Hoo, Stan must be devastated.

    2. You're the only one with brilliant insight to see my pain in that post. Congrats.

  6. What a face! And let's be clear. He is adamant that he does NOT drink so let's not even go there. Did Ana Chavez really do the mambo with this guy? Lord have mercy. Such a classy gal and this guy...? Ugh

  7. Lieberman hates Radnich. What else is new?

  8. It really hurts his credibility as a sports commentator if he's constantly showing a lack of interest in the sports and teams he comments on. He's always more interested in the off-field issues and the personalities of the players and coaches. He pays lips service to the actually play. I guess with Larry around he doesn't have to talk much about the details of games. But being the main host of the show, maybe Gary should try a little harder to care?

    1. Actually, Radnich is being honest and saying that he really doesn't care that much nor is he pretending that he does.

If he was a rabid fan, critics here would accuse him of being biased and a mouthpiece for KNBR and the Niners. He's not pretending to be something that he's not. In fact he's taking a shot at the team and their new stadium by saying that the game drags on and traffic out is annoying.

    2. No, he's always more interested in idolizing random black female rap stars or black male rap stars that speaks 50 words of English.

    3. Good point there at 2:53pm,
You took the words right out of my mouth. Many of us share this same observation.

"...black male rap stars that speaks 50 words of English."

You can't even WRITE 50 words of English.
FYI, Dummy: "Stars" is plural which means the following adverb is "speak."

      Idiot.

    5. @2:53
Correction on my previous post: verb, not adverb.

  9. Er, uh, hard to defend this...maybe he's closer to the end of the line than we know

  10. I was listening to the show today and Radnich's co-host asked him if he wanted to leave at 11:30 so he could beat traffic. I thought it was funny.

  11. Raddie more than likely scored freebies from the station. No appreciation. Tickets for Santa Clara Levi Stadium 49er Football is a rich man's game these days. Maybe if he had to pay for them, he'd stick around, like a real fan.

  12. So what? How dare he listen to RADIO on his drive home? I love going to tailgate and staying for some of the games I attend but hate the traffic. Rarely do I stay til the end.

I see zero problem with this at all.

  13. Radnich wasn't the only one who left the game early. The prime ticket seats directly across the field from those of us in the press box were half empty for the entire game. Where were those fans?

Either not in the park or perhaps watching the games in the concourses while they at the gourmet food being served. But I don't think all of them stayed there and ate food and watched the TV monitors the entire game. You wouldn't do that if you had tickets, especially on a nice day, wesather-wise. So Why would you spend wads of money for those seats, and then not use them to see what turned out to be a classic NFL game?

As far as Radnich leaving the game early, he said today on the air he has a cold and wasn't feeling well. But it was over 70 degrees and very comfortable at the park. Maybe a bunch of other Niner fans were also feeling ill after watching SF's offense and special teams give up 21 points in the first half!

  14. Remember most fans don't attend the games (at least NFL games)...so the fact that Radnich leaves early probably is not that big of a deal. What is a bigger deal is his general disinterest/disdain in attending any sport event 'live'. Give him credit...he's figured out that most people (at least his audience) are much more interested in the gossip stuff than the actual play on the field. His ratings probably prove it.

  15. Radnich's philosophy of what to discuss on a sports radio talk show seems rather odd. I guess casual fans find his style 'entertaining,' but his fascination with talking about rappers, or Janet Jackson, or some unimportant, or some 'juicy' gossip regarding an athlete's private life never seems to wane. The hardcore sports fan tolerates Radnich because he's been doing this for so long and can be somewhat entertaining and amusing in his own way. But it's kind of like Radnich is giving the finger to the hardcore sports fans who want hard, opinionated information about sports on a sport talks radio show. He figures that those folks will listen to him regardless, perhaps because of who he is, and that the non-sports talk info will attract a more general audience. However he doesn't seem to realize that his schtick and his whole presentation are repetitive and predictable, and also not very imaginative. That said, your picture of a bloated, spotted, and aging Radnich was not very flattering or necessary Rich, but I'm guessing that your enmity toward Rad-man is so strong that you want to embarrass or take shots at the guy any time you have an opportunity. I'm curious Rich..what great wrong did Radnich do you to earn such unbridled antipathy from you? Can you please explain? You just love to skewer this guy any chance you get, and frankly, many of your readers such as yours truly finding it both weird and disturbing. What's your deal anyway?

    1. I personally enjoy reading these (Radnich) columns by RL.
After all, Radnich used to start his show way back when, with this declaration to his audience, "we are going to rip today".

  16. What a coincidence, I left his show 3 years ago! :)

To be fair, Gary showed up at the Stick to see the game and, after talking and holding court, finally figured out they were now in Santa Clara by the 3rd. ZING!!!

  17. Its pretty simple. If you are a jersey-wearer, you hate Radnich. If you wouldn't be caught dead in a gamer, you enjoy him. Not all of us gotta support the team.
