5 Quick Thursday Coffee TV Bullet Points

 Morning Coffee TV/Radio Bullet Points

1. KTVU: Reporter a day...Managing Editor still tweeting American Idol dumb stuff, not to mention geographically-challenged Bay-to-Breakers history...behind the scenes, senior reporters future up in area and oh yes, a News Director, the boy wonder, that has zero cred with rank and file. (Psst, hire Sinkovitz!)

2. KRON: They go to work --get in and out and do their best. Still a gargantuan amount of uncertainty --new spread at 900 Front has better coffee over 1001 Van Ness, but no Tommy's Joynt...Looks like interim GM has the job if he wants it. Darya is happy and Pero is Pero.

3. KNTV: Everybody seems to be happy although new personnel moves have people a bit nervous...The Bunker lady, according to some of the toes, is in over her head...Hey John Mitchell, lighten up and buy the troops lunch. They're working hard and you don't smile enough...Some sandwiches at Togo's does wonders. And screw potato chips, extra diet coke and cookies.

4. KGO-TV: Carolyn Johnson's last day is Friday so the mood is bittersweet --expect a lot of emotions on the 6 and 11 casts --Tracey, like John Mitchell, SMILE! Have a chat. Tell staff you appreciate the hard work, even Wayne--buys a lot of good will and holds off impending Disney purge at the end of the year, see Spence and Cheryl.

5. KPIX: What's with the new guy that looks like he just got out of high-school? Leave it to Beaver invades 855 Battery!...I want more Betty Yu, Juliette Goodrich ---Roby too. Hey, this "mobile weather" gimmick had a shelf life of 2 weeks--enough of the cutesy, viewers know it's simply a live shot with a weather stick...Oh, Veronica? I want to see you, I really do. So whatever the heck is going on, I hope you and the family work it out. The fact that anyone is talking about you should indicate we all care. We like you, we really, really like you...Dan, let's have a hoist at Old Ship and bury the hatchet. Bring Roberta--oh, wait a minute...

  1. Agree 100% about the mobile weather at KPIX. So, you have a TV and a weather station in the trunk of your Toyota. OHHHHHHHHH! So what. I could go to Amazon and get the same set-up for $600.

  2. I think we have to make it official: Brown Nose Radnich. His new moniker. Well earned too.
He should have it sowed on to his hankies, embossed on his wallet, printed on his license plate frame. "Brown Nose Radnich"
And as I said before,if you don't like it ,give me your phone# and after talking to me,I will tell all the internet you came to the conclusion you were wrong and that I'm a swell guy EVERY time! Why would I lie?

Stan, why would anyone want to post their phone number and talk to YOU? We all wish you would simply go away and post your aberrant thoughts on your own blog which anyone could read if they were interested in your latest obsessional Radnich stalking.

    2. Oh,too clever and piercing!
Uh,why would you even post? wink -wink...

    3. I may take Stan up on that offer one day.

  3. I never watch local news but I was flipping channels and caught Bunker. She is one beautiful woman! On Carolyn Johnsons level.

  4. To think that KGO 810 was rubbed off the front page for this? All this meaningless kerfuffle AND Stan too? Oh, crap. I just through up in my mouth a little.

  5. Rich, I thought you were referring to The Babe in The Bunker.
That what the las post was about.

  6. One thing I don't hear much about on this site is about Labor Unions. Do media stations such as these Bay Area Terrestrial Radio stations typically make workers join a union? I recall considering a job at General Motors in Detroit, just before the Japanese rocked our world with a better overall product. Back then, if not today, you had no choice but to pay x number of dollars from your first few checks to go to the union. Is there no equivalent in media? Best if there isn't such a demand. I think I recall hearing Melanie Morgan saying years ago, that she only recently learned of a law saying you did not have to join such labor unions. It would not be a compulsatory policy. Can you imagine Darya pacing on the picket line, her slogan filled sign held high, while wearing her mink bomber jacket?

  7. Radnich did explain yesterday he "sucks up" because he WANTS to. And ,sure enough, he sucks up to anybody it turns out that helps him make a buck!

Also Rich, your sports minded readers should know that Kawakami and Marcus Thompson2 who wrote glowing odes to Lacob and Kerr rather then asking questions of Jacksons firing, actually went over every comment I made and deleted them. Reading them was like reading a brochure for "the Steve Kerr on your show room floor". Nothing reporter or investigative in the slightest about what really happened with Jackson. As fans know..players have denied everything the ownership said about Mark Jackson. You would think Tim Kawakami "sportswriter of the year" might have probed that angle. Not at all,he instead spent hours deleting me!

  8. Still hanging on to the "Spencer and Cheryl are toast in December" story, eh? Even after KGO shot it down in public and Jennings denied it in public? Well...for your sake I hope you're right come December otherwise a whole lotta people are going to ridicule you rotten for getting something totally wildly 100% wrong and then doubling down when the blowback came.

On another subject, I don't get why you are so quick to come down on KPIX's outdoor weather gimmick when you went to such lengths to praise KGO's outdoor weather gimmick. At least KPIX is trying. KGO just stuck a camera on the roof. Granted, given Disney's cost cutting, putting a camera on the roof may be all they can afford to do.

    1. Yeah, I'm standing by the story.

So what if KGO "shot it down?" They also shot down Carolyn Johnson --how did that work out? Matter of fact, they haven't even acknowledged she's leaving even when the ND read it aloud to the newsroom.

Let me tell you this too: if Johnson was asked to restructure her contract, take a 20% pay cut, (and CJ's one of KGO's top anchors), you don't think there's more to come of this?

I don't know who you are nor really care for that matter--I happen to like Spencer...Cheryl, not so much but that's besides the point.

Disney is making cutbacks --especially in their TV stations and news. KGO isn't alone. And yes, both Christian and Jennings contracts are not being renewed come December, I've been told.

      Have a nice day.

  9. Not surprising that Karakami and Marcus Thompson deleted Stan's comments. It's the same reason he's been at the other blogs. He's not well and has nothing of value to communicate.

    1. Then why would they get upset over "no value"? Who would?. And the answer is,I shake the media up because I tell truths. They don't mind posts that say nothing all up and down the comments section. The truths?, those sting. Right MT2 and Kawakami? ..Who read this blog like a religion.

The Chron and Bang sportswriters cant make it more obvious they value advertising from local teams then the truth. Same for the editors. What the sports writers do is laughable compared to the front page journalists. And that's because the crooks and killers don't spend a dime on advertising their talents in the papers.
I think its time the SF Chronicle and BANG call their sports pages for what they are "advertising supplements". The hypocrisy of sportswriters of the year or sports hosts can then end. All can be Bob Fitzgerald's and be on the local team payroll too..if they aren't already.
Its when a winning coach is fired and the media is all for it? THAT'S when it gets insane and overt as to who is paying who and the crazy one sided views..
And let me remind 244..BASG just flat out told me,I was ruining his friendship with the local teams. No matter how much I read remarks like244's- usually if not always by flunkster types-lol..I know local teams peg me as fan no.1 to read. I don't go for their bullshit, and can spot Meyers or Mark Davis or Bogut telling lies..and then I say it on the net. Hell,I had Harbaugh use my quotes a couple of times.
C'mon people with talent know it. And I know I got it.

    2. Stan, They aren't upset about "no value." They just don't want to waste their own space and diminish their product by repeating your nonsense.

And Stan, being an internet troll doesn't make you a member of the media.

Your last paragraph is a nonsensical rant. Learn to write.

    3. I never personally cared for Kawakami myself. Seems to be full of himself.

    4. Stan is no more a member of the media than someone who writes filth on bathroom stalls is an author.

  10. Speaking of definitely in over her head, KTVU's New Hire Azenith Smith so far is so Embarrassingly Bad!! Better suited for Oroville CA than Oakland/San Francisco/San Jose CA!!

    1. She really is terrible, but there are about three or four absolutely awful new "reporters" at KTVU lately. A shame. I hope Maureen Naylor comes back from maternity leave soon, and that Ally Rasmus gets more work. But that Azenith woman is not good.

  11. Disney will also be downgrading the tv cameras on KGO.
They will not be using the expensive high definition cameras.
They will be using black and white tv cameras they got on eBay.
Rating should be higher thanks to the move.
    Thank you.

  12. Radnich: I wouldn't care if you sat on my lap. Pam Moore: That's not going to happen. Radnich the brownnoser: I might even like it. So after 20 years,That's what she gets from him on air. To top that, Radnich was also thrilled that a Seahawk passed on meeting Obama. As if the player sat in his lap thrilled...
What an embarrassment to the whole local media he is. And he should know by now people love when I put him in his place. I get 10x the views on my posts by average...maybe double Clarence the slightly crossed eyed cat stories. And nobody defends him on my blog. Nobody. Never!
Give the people who want justice and honesty what is what I do best.

    1. Stan, we get it, you're obsessed with Radnich. Enough already. Your ridiculous claims about what what said about Obama is 100% wrong. Get help and spare the rest of us your lunacy.

      Delete
    2. No,I was 100% right. Radnich always takes pleasure at swiping Obama. What Radnich didn't say? That player's mother said a relative had died..and that's why "He didn't want to go"..SO why don't YOU write Radnich about his creative editing?
And ..you did notice Pam Moore didn't join in on the veiled Obama bash?
Radnich and his wife- Clarencia thomas Radnich must sit at home ripping Obama like them southerner in Django...

    3. By your junior high revision of Radnich's wife's name, are you implying that blacks should support Obama or else they're not rightminded black people? Isn't that racist, Stan?

      Delete
    4. 103 I get it- your nuts. You remind me ..Radnich said on air "Black people think its important to support OJ".
      Yeah,the Radnich family represents.

  13. I agree with Anon. 4:44pm regarding Azenith. She really is not on par with the other KTVU reporters.

  14. Question re: Bunker of KNTV: how is she in over her head? Not learning the local stories fast enough or ????? Not disputing, just don;t know enough of what an anchor needs to know and do.

  15. wow- HUGE spike in views to my blog yesterday. Must be all the people who dont read my rips of Radnich.
Gee,I wonder what I could do if that blog was more then a hobby I post on?..lol.

  16. If a single living human, not an automaton, spider or bot, actually read Stan's blog, that would be a huge spike.

No human being has left a single comment on Stan's blog for months and months, a sure sign that no one reads it.
