  6. Love George Benson! Better virtuoso guitar master than vocalist, but his jazz stylings like this one are superb. Rich, honest, you haven't yet missed your calling. You should do "variety" or "full service" radio putting both conversation and this (and other selections you've had lately) on air with you as music director and host. It's not "dated" like Charlie Friedman, works on both AM and FM and you could make some good bucks and give listeners something unique to hear and sponsors to buy. If it were me ... I'd be on the horn with your pal, MZ, and build a show around this on either KSCO, KOMY or both. As a broadcaster, I think this could be a huge saving grace for you, yet, adding a flair for some exciting, not dated, radio. I'd be on the horn with MZ right now .... or, go internet and build it on your own. You got the niche, the demand for a younger, but "mature" audience liZstening to more than vitriol and you'd have a base. Can music and talk work? Yes, if done well. Don't listen to the "oh, we can hear music anywhere" Not the kind of music you've selected on your blog of late. MZ wants to make money? You've discovered the uniqueness of a great show that flows with current times and has a unique sound signature. Great going! Now DO IT! You can do it by remote, too! AM is more than political talk or all talk. Split it up and spice it up with great songs ... and you'll not have to hope for calls and yet, you'll control the talk as it needs be. Hell, I'll call MZ for you and pitch it and will guarantee he'll buy it. Talk about the "Sound of the Central Coast" -- man, you'd do it with ths. Great job.

  7. Amen on Lou Rawls, too! "On a Clear Day" would be cool, "Dead End Street", "3 o'clock in the Morning", "Groovy People" .... oh, yeah. Pick one...
