Remember Mancow, The Radio Guy Who Had a Haircut On The Bay Bridge?; Radnich-Bennett 'Spat' on KRON Puppy Love; Yeah, There's a Drought and KPIX5 Paul Deanno Has Huge Sideburns; Friday Starter

Mancow Muller
Erich “Mancow” Muller has departed TRN and is going into new ventures on his own.

You might remember it was Mancow that made headlines here many years ago by having a haircut on the Bay Bridge and causing a major traffic nightmare.

His station, (KSOL at the time) and its owner were fined 500 grand. He left the Bay Area and proceeded to make millions in Chicago radio and the rest is history.

If radio fails maybe Mancow could work for Chris Christie.

*Don't be all worked up over that alleged on-air cursing spat between Gary Radnich and weather chick, Jackie Bennett Thursday night on KRON.

I didn't see it but got a few e-mails. I don't think it was anything more than some innocent puppy love between Raddy and the high-pressure priestess with the tight top.

*The faux concerned-look by local anchors when the weather guessers tell us, piously, that there's no rain in sight continues to both irritate and amuse me. As if they're the executioner about to lower the boom on the body. Guys, enough already, we get periodic droughts and then we get enough rain to flood all the BMW's ever purchased in Marin. We'll get through all of this and nobody will get hurt except our pocketbook from the water mafia companies.

*Yo, Paul Deanno, KPIX weatherman: Dude, what's with the uber-sideburns? Trying to court the Fremont ladder demo?

    1. I came here to find out the same thing. Fremont lad demo; I'm out of the loop, but speculation boggles the mind. Some of us North county peeps may have to go down there and find out what the heck is going on!

Funny Rich is listening so closely to these weather reports but he's not hearing the part where they say this is unprecedented and breaking records.

    1. Lieberman would be up in arms criticizing newscasters if they didn't report on the drought, especially today when Governor Brown declared an emergency due to the hot weather. Lieberman criticizes for over reporting and for under reporting sitting from the comfort of his couch.

    2. Why do they keep talking about the weather and how this drought will change the way we live and do business instead of bringing up Asiana again? Why?!

  3. At $13-billion dollars, I think we all took a haircut on the Bay Bridge. ;-p

    1. Is Jackie Bennett still engaged to the army dude? I could swear I've seen her on air sans the engagement ring..

    2. She married centuries ago dude.

    3. She did? I'll keep an eye out for the ring tonight.

    4. Many don't wear the ring on-air so the attraction is greater. PR trick.

    5. He's Air Force and they're married. Probably a bouncing baby pilot will soon be on the way.

  5. I worked at TRN while that show was with the network and I'm wondering what the 12 affiliates that used to carry the show are going to do now. Maybe someone can blow a dog whistle into a mic for a few hours each day?

  6. Jacqueline Bennett is the ONLY REASON why KRON 4 news is worth watching. It's definitely not because of that over-priced blow hard who knows dick about sports. He used to, now he's using USPS to get the job done.

  8. Gary's a world-class asshole, Jacqueline's a stuck-up bitch, and they're both horrible to work with. Like a pocket full of posies those two.
