Waldman and CNN; KQED's Oakland Diss; KNBR Omits Damon Bruce Podcasts; 'Good Morning Steve Bitker'?--Not; KTVU Sports Guys; Thursday Quick Start

If KRON's Justine Waldman wants to leave the Bay Area and venture into the high chair of CNN, Jeff Zucker and company would welcome her with open arms. The only issues outstanding seem to be money and whether Waldman wants to leave the Bay Area.

*The nitwits at KQED decided to get cute after writing a supposed, tongue-in-cheek blog post about where not to hang out in Oakland. It wasn't funny; worse yet, KQED is now in full-circle CYA mode. Good way to ingratiate yourself with the 510 contributors.

*At KNBR, they mysteriously have stopped posting Damon Bruce podcasts after Nov. 8--the day after his anti-women brain fart. That's not a good sign.

*I'm sorry, Steve Bitker, of KCBS, but your daily on-air, "Good Morning Stan, 'Good Morning Susan, Good Morning Holly, Good Morning...." is really nauseating and cringe-worthy. It's also sort of self-serving and the listeners know it.

*The loud-mouthed "star" reporter from the circle7 group is at it again, this time, at Tadich. He's beginning to get careless.

*The KTVU sports guys, minus Mark Ibanez, have been feuding a bit too pubby --again. Maybe they should have kissed up to the current GM more. That is, assuming the GM would respond to thier e-mails. He has this nasty habit.

*"Thanks for trusting us." Are you serious? After awhile it really gets annoying. CAN IT!

*PIX memo: more tickets on the news vans outside Battery. What? Did somone high up not give a few bucks to the parking authority.

    1. So far, media women are omitting being on his show.

  2. I don't think its money- Its that her husband Grant seems to have settled in to KRON and SF. Maybe she is trying to get the both hired at CNN?
And I was watching ch7..Noelle Walker. That's the wife of Dave Walker, part of the Husband and wife tradition the bay area has had in the news. They were at ch11 for a couple of years a decade ago.

    2. He divorced plain jane Lois. And then married salsa like Noelle. And that's lasted,I guess.

    3. Think you are confusing Dave Walker and Lois Hart from KCRA...

    4. Wrong. Noelle is single. She also doesn't work for channel 7.

    5. ??? That will be news to Dave and Lois.

    6. Dave Walker WAS married to Lois Hart-and both did ch11,divorced her,THEN married Noelle years later. He and she did work for CH11, THEN CNN (or reversed?),after that never heard from them. She, I saw on ch7. Maybe it was freelance. Like the Playbody Playmate who does ch7 fill in weekend Weather.
And,if Noelle divorced Dave and kept the last name? News to me.

    7. And- that Dave and Lois also did KCRA,says a lot about Dave's ability to get husband and wife jobs.
Until Noel or Noelle chimes in,this is how it stands.

  3. Fred Ingles and Fonzie don't like each other?. Might be because Fonz has a privileged life and works for fun. And guess who told me that on 50,000 watts? I give credit where credit is due.

    1. I can't imagine how either of them could like Ibanez. I once had to interview him and he's got an ego the size of the Titanic. He shoved a copy of his pathetically-bad self-published book "The Sportin' Life" (or whatever it's called) into my hands and told me I had to read it, *then* we could talk. Fine, thought I. I threw the book away and he never got an interview. See how much I give a damn about your "sportin' life," Markie-Mark?

    2. Hey,Remember when Mark in the 80's and 90's looked like Mickey Thomas of Starship aka 'Jefferson Starship".? The whole perm and wide 'stache. That had a good near 20 year run/ look for Mark. I was wondering how long he could get away looking like that. That and the evil eye he would get from Leslie the blond after they broke up. He could smile just fine to her,she gave him the Fatal Attraction death stare. Man,I know she had to have thrown some dishes his way...

  4. True: A KCBS reporter was doing a story...and as he's going along he says "Repairs are continuing on the Man Hole". Yes,that clear. Then, catches himself and says "manhole cover". I tried to remember his name to embarrass him. I forget.

  5. Rich, I really wish you'd drop some clues who this "Circle 7" egomaniac is. At least, could I meet you in a parking garage behind a pillar. I'll be the one in the trench coat smoking the cigarette.

Are you sure KTVU is saying "Thank you for trusting us" or whatever? They'd abandoned it after Asiana and I haven't noticed its return, but maybe I just wasn't paying attention.

Noelle Walker...there's someone you (Rich) never talk about as "doable" but I'd do her in a minute, don't care if she's middle-aged. There's something about her that makes me think she's...just a blast, let's say.

    2. Really? I think my track record is pretty accurate. Not perfect I suppose. Who is?
Btw, I wrote a blog on how Tesla catches fire a while ago, while some Prof. invented a electric car with 1,500 HP,and NEVER overheats. Made of Apache helicopter starters batteries. So,why doesn't Tesla admit its batteries are flawed? Then sure enough, another $150,000 car caught fire. AND today, I beat one on the Sunol Ridge. My Corolla going down hill, effortlessly got in and out of traffic- no speeding, but fast lane normal stuff. Tesla guy was a car behind me- then fell way behind as big rigs moved in when he tried to get to the fast lane. I won! He couldn't see as good as my visibility in the Toyota to move over!. Nice try Tesla guy.
How many media people can tell you that?

    1. Just saw Noelle do a report on the fallen eucalyptus tree near Lake Merrit. She's sexy but nowhere near Heather Holmes although Heather gives an air of high maintenance which is annoying. Next time straddle the fallen tree Noelle!

  11. On the week of the MLB award announcements Steve Bitker speculated on KCBS that Max Scherzer was the possible Cy Young Award winner. "Possible?!? with a 21-3 win-loss record on a playoff team??? That statement struck me as weird. Don't pretend to know something and broadcast it to the whole Bay Area. Report the news.

I like Fred Inglis even though he always seems to make mistakes--kind of a 21st Century Marc Gibson. Joe Fonzi is solid--especially with the 49ers. I remember the time he had to fill in for Joe Starkey on a 49er radio broadcast without much advance notice. He did a great job.

  12. Did anyone catch Michael Weiner Savage's Thursday program?
Such evil, vitriol coming from a rabble-rousing grouchy old man.
And this vicious display is coming to Cumulus Prime-Time in January?

    Listen for yourself:

    The hate only escalates....

    1. I don't need to listen to him to know he spits vitriol. But believe me, most of it is an act to line his soul. He doesn't need the money, but he definitely needs the credit and the praise. That's why he does it.

The difference between him and Bruce though, other than the obvious, is Bruce is too stupid not to mean what he said, and Savage says what he says simply to connect with an audience he believes are his mates, or more likely, his minions. The whole thing seems pretty laughable at this point.

Yet Cumulus has chosen to allow Savage to do what he does, and in many ways it allows Bruce to get away with his antics as well (and every other host). Now that Savage will be primetime across much of the East Coast, every single radio host on all of those stations has complete cover to say whatever they want, and get away with it. Fire someone? "Let me introduce you to my lawyer. Our first witness? Dr. Weiner, will you please take the stand?"

At the end of the day Cumulus does not care who they're in bed with as long as they can pay back their debts, and move people over to SweetJack, which is just a tragic mess of a website.

There's nothing more rich than Cumulus pushing SweetJack in the heart of Silicon Valley.

      Woof! Woof!

Now I need to take a nap. Let me see if Gil Gross is still on...

  13. CNN probably doesn't want Grant Lodes lol , How many Stations has Grant Lodes Followed Justine Waldman to? Waldman has great Talent so much so that KRON gives Grant Lodes the Sympathy job, How many other News Channel will accommodate Grant Lodes as well as KRON has with a prime time spot?

    1. Waldman? Let's give her one test. Turn off the prompter and see if she can ad-lib her way out of a wet paper bag. Man, she can't even speak clearly half of the time. And those over contortions of her mouth when speaking is bush league at best. Perfect fit for kron.

    2. All you need to know about Justine Waldman's talent..... Just look up her anchoring job during the thanksgiving holiday when she first arrived. It's SNL worthy. Even the kron suits were shocked at what they say. She was relegated to reporting in the evenings per the am anchor queen. Meh...

  14. Damon Bruce never learns no.6,739. Yesterday I heard Bruce say this: The worst thing is drunk woman doing Karaoke of 4 Non Blonds old song "Whats going on". (actually that's not the title of the song but most think so) And then Damon laughed and tossed in a few more barbs about woman and that song.
Now,most of a certain age know that 4 non blonds was a lesbian band. So,no accident Bruce went after them.
This is how I see it from one angle. Bruce has some pent up hate for woman in media he can't contain it. And a Lesbian band just ratchets that up.
Another angle- Bruce's recent near firing messed with his head up so badly,he's like Mike Myers as Austin Powers trying not to look at the mole..Holy Moly!!..that's Damon,Even if he tries not to bash woman..his subconscious does it for him..out loud.
