Zimmerman Verdict and 'Fruitvale Station': The Perfect Storm
I asked on my radio show Friday about the potential of the perfect storm: a jury verdict acquitting George Zimmerman in the death of Trayvon Martin and the release of the movie, "Fruitvale Station", which recounts the last day of Oscar Grant's life.
As Normal the BA Media was and is 100% Useless in reporting. You had a Mob of White Trouble makers, running the Streets of Oakland at 12AM Last night. As for Trayvon Martin and Oscar Grant, they are dead for the simple fact they picked a fight with a gun. Young thugs of any race are welcome to wake up and figure it out. When you challenge authority you will be on the loosing end.
As Mark Fuhrman said yesterday, "What's wrong with wanting to be a cop?"
How did we get to the point where wanting to be a cop is bad, but wanting to be a gangster is good?
Zimmerman was raised in a family where his father was a judge and his uncle was a Command Sergeant Major in the Army. He was surrounded by strong role models, but now he's just a "wannabe cop," which is supposed to now be taken as a pejorative?
the "loosing" end? "challenge authority"?? George Zimmerman had no authority over Trayvon Martin, whatsoever
the term "wannabe cop" describes Mr. Zimmerman, a soft, pudgy, man-boobed bully who went on police ride-alongs so he could pretend he had some authority, and who stalked a black teenager who dared to turn the tables on him. Trayvon Martin had no way to issue deadly force, no weapon, no intent. To believe that George Zimmerman was in reasonable fear for his life is hogwash. Just because somebody you've been stalking, calls you out, or sits on you, doesn't give you the right to use deadly force. I predict that George zimmerman's life will be plagued by the sensation he's become the one being stalked, whether true or not.
I would disagree, Zimmerman had authority over Trayvon Martin from his HOA. As for Trayvon we are not talking about an 11 year old. He was a 17 year old Pot Smoking Trouble maker. Should he have been Killed? I think he picked a fight with the wrong person and lost.
I intend to see Fruitvale Station...but I was annoyed by the revelation that the film contains deliberate false attributes, given to mr. grant's characterization. The film, according to the Chronicle reviewer shows Mr. Grant throwing away a bag of marijuana he was going to sell that night, because he had decided to turn his life around. That is a contrivance which didn't happen and which is laughable on several levels. It also represents him as stopping to aid an injured dog that night, which reportedly did not actually happen. Why is this sort of embellishment necessary? Anybody know? seen it?
I watched the movie. I thought it was well directed. It didn't make Oscar Grant look like a saint, and it didn't make the officer who shot him into a villain. To me, the movie humanized them both. The problem with the movie is it's mostly about Grant's life, which minus his death, wasn't all that interesting or dramatic. I do remember thinking the scenes with the dog and the marijuana seemed out of place, or made up. Overall though, I don't feel like I wasted my money by going to see it.
So you say that what I am citing, the San Francisco Chronicle review,is "obvious hearsay"? I stated not that I had seen the movie, but that I hadn't. I asked if anyone had seen it(since I have not)and if so what they thought about the contrivances. The film's director has acknowledged the "varnished" truth. This isn't a courtroom, but a media blog. Do you even know what hearsay is?
Yes, I do know what hearsay is which is apparently more than you can say.
The legal definition of course is "a statement made out of court that is offered in court as evidence to prove the truth of the matter asserted." In this instance, you haven't seen the movie yourself. You can't attest to the content of the movie.
If you want to go ahead and comment on movies you haven't even seen, be my guest. You never allow actual facts get in your way. Aren't you the one who wanted to salute Tori Campbell for the way she read the pilots names?
I salute Tori Campbell for not saying the more obvious pronunciation that "fuk" inspires.. Reread what I wrote.
I'm not "attesting to the contents of the movie". I'm citing the Chronicle's review in which the film's maker describes why they used false embellishments to build up the drama. There is no fact in dispute. I don't need your permission to comment on anything, nor you, mine.
It's categorized as a drama based on Grant, not a documentary. "dramatic license" allows the artistic director to make an emotional impact for an otherwise boring story.
Example: At the beginning of "Fargo",it's stated that it was based on a true story. Truth is that it's not and the Cohen bros included the statement for dramatic reasons. The bros freely admit so.
So it is your view that they had to make things up, because the reality was not sympathetic or dramatic enough. So then, doesn't that make you wonder what else, if anything, was pulled out of thin air for this movie? or not?
Christine criticizes a movie she hasn't seen, complains about a dramatic movie's accuracy when it doesn't purport to be a factual documentation, and then "salutes" a news person who pronounced a foolish fictitious Asian name arguably inaccurately.
Christine, you've got us rolling in the aisles. Maybe you should try standup comedy.
So like just about everything else, Christine is an expert on movies. She doesn't even have to see them to lecture others about them. She has a rare gift.
Did your apartment or house get "tagged" with graffiti over the weekend? You're lucky, considering you did nothing but primed the pump on the Zimmerman trial all week.
It is interesting how the movie came out and the verdict was decided on the same weekend. I feel badly for both the families of Trayvon Martin and Oscar Grant. Neither young man deserved to be murdered, and Johannes Meserle and George Zimmerman will have to live with the terrible mistakes they made for the rest of their lives. Both also should have received at least five years in jail.
Just imagine if Martin would have been a nicely dressed polite boy. I bet my earthly possesions that the outcome would have been 100% different. Instead he chose a thug and gangsta lifestyle.
I think this is a teachable moment for black america. The thug mentality will get you killed. These so called black leaders should stand up and call upon other blackleaders to protest the thug and gangsta mentality.
Though I agree with your comment to some degree, I'm not sure it applies to Martin as much as Grant.
As a white male, being a black in the U.S. seems like a real hassle. Even if a black male was living life right, they still get extra attention from the law due to the crime stats that their race creates. Very little benefit of the doubt for black males.
As a gun owner, I think it's a teachable moment for all gun owners as well, regardless of race.
It's also a teachable moment for law makers when they concoct "stand your ground" laws.
Personally I have twice been a victim of black on white racism.
As an immigrant; albeit a white one; I have been subject to racism from US born people as well.
If you live in Oakland where the majority of serious crimes are committed by black men, it is only normal to fear them. There is no racism there. The same goes to this case with Zimmerman. The crimes were committed by young black men. You would have to be an idiot not to suspect young black men of another crime.
This comment really makes me sad, for a lot of reasons. I am sad that you feel you've been targeted for your skin color. And I am also sad that you now think all black men should be feared. There are a lot of bad and good people in this world, and they come in ALL colors.
Exactly what evidence do you have that Trayvon Martin was a Thug, or living a "Gangsta Lifestyle?" It seems like everyone who wants to Justify the Murder of Trayvon Martin's murder by Zimmerman wants to Stereotype TM as a Thug, which he was not! Trayvon was minding his OWN Business, trying to make it home, when this kook Profiled him, Stalked him, & Murdered him!
He was a High School Teenager, did he do dumb things, yes, was he a Gangsta Thug...NO! Trayvon did Nothing like the 2 White Teens shooting up a Littleton Colorado High School, or a White Teen murdering innocent Elementary School kids, or for that matter a White Kid that shot up a Movie Theater in Colorado.
Get your facts dude, b4 you spew false info, & stop STEREOTYPING Innocent BLACK Children!
Photographic evidence shows Trayvon as someone with a gold grill, a mustache, smoking dope & handling guns. This was on his own phone.
The media chose to portray Trayvon as a really adorable 12 year old for some reason, and also called GZ WHITE for the longest time, then decided on WHITE HISPANIC.
I also loved how NAACP CEO is talking about PEOPLE OF COLOR when Ben Jealous (the head of the NAACP) is 1/18th white & is whiter than the defendant George Zimmerman.
How funny is that? It's all about race, but GZ considered himself LATINO but the media considered him WHITE.
TM was not an "innocent black child", no he was violent, he had been arrested, he loved guns, he was a thug. Period.
Rich finally agrees with his hero Michael Savage on this one, interestingly enough.
I'll bet my earthly possessions that you are full of shiite.Try this on for size: http://gawker.com/this-courtesy-of-msnbc-is-trayvon-martins-dead-body-753370712
Interesting that you have to shoot the messenger and have to refer to name calling instead of coming up with valid counter arguments. A very bad debater you are.
Let's face it; if Martin hadn't been wearing a hoodie and had just backed off when George Zimmerman had approached and questioned him, instead of attacking him, he'd probably be alive today.
And if Oscar Grant had just not made a big deal about everything and started fighting with the BART cops, he wouldn't have been in the position to get cuffed and then mistakenly shot by Meserle, who was trying to taser him and mistakenly shot him in the back with his gun.
Both incidents should serve as cautionary tales for young black males; Don't make a potentially bad situation worse with punk behavior. Stay out of trouble by keeping your cool. Bad behavior will sometimes turn a bad situation into a lethal situation, and both Zimmerman and Meserle were time bombs ready to explode.
Both of those guys should have been found guilty though, and should have to serve a minimum of five years in the clink. There is no excuse for Zimmerman killing Martin, (I don't care if Martin was fighting him, that didn't give Zimmerman the right to shoot the guy!)and Meserle was so out of it with rage, he didn't even realize he was pointing his pistol, not his taser at Grant.
Anonymous at 4:33...You are anonymous, so your "feelers" can't be hurt. Is a "counter argument", an argument at a counter?
4:46 It's a photograph of the deceased, shortly after being shot by George Zimmerman. Put on your big boy pants, haven't you ever seen a dead body before? Is he wearing gang clothes? gangsta clothes? as was alleged in this thread, clothes that he should not have dared to wear because the black community needs a schooling in how to behave? Angry? you're damned right I am.
Why does posting your name, Christine (Craft) make you any better than anyone else? How come your callers are all but anonymous on air, when you land a gig? You know better. Put your big girl panties on and get a life. No one owes you anything, including their name for an opinion --- just like yours.
Of course you don't "owe" me anything. However, the poster(s) to whom I responded said Trayvon Martin was a gangsta and that the black community needed some schooling on how to act white. Why would you be so afraid to put your name to that? I'm not afraid to put my name on what I write.I offer no pretense that it makes me "better than anyone else."
I think there is a big courage deficit here..and still..not a one of you anonymous racists will use your name when describing how (to you)that young man's body on the ground looked "like a gangsta". Why is that? Why am I attacked for posting the picture? Because you are too gutless to address the issue..I'll try again. What about that teenager lying dead in perfectly normal clothing for anyone, looks "gangsta"?
Only in the eyes of a cowardly anonymous racist is that so.
Yes Christine. You are so right. Sorry that English is my 3rd language. Ofcourse how could I be so dumb. A counter argument is an argument at a counter. And I thought I was stupid.
Christine is just an angry old white liberal lawyer, who wants to rage at the world for all of her past life disappointments. Sorry you didn't get appointed to the US Supreme Court, in spite of all your notable legal victories (LOL). Poor Christine, reduced to a part time talk show host. Nobody should ever use a gun, except if it's her in self-defense. Then, and only then, would it be justified. You go girl!
How about the chief prosecutor for the State of Floriday who overcharged, lied to the court in forms filed and stood there with a shit-eating grin during the press conferent defending her legal team> She's an idiot.
Alan Dershowitz said today that she should be disbarred she was so awful in handling this case for the state and totally screwed-the-pooch.
If it had been a black guy shooting a white guy, we would have this discussion.
Further, I'd like Christine's take on this -- why is disobediance of the law, such as what happened in Oakland last night, today, as well as in LA (rubber bullets used by police,) New York and other places, make it right? Seems like we see this more and more.
And why is the media hellbent on dragging out the irrelevant, incediary, Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton in each of these types of incidents.
Just to stir up a news story about riots in the streets in the dead of summer? Me thinks so.
You are confused Trayvon was not a hood, he wore a hood. How about Zimmerman identifying himself, saying "I'm a neighbor watchman, do you live here" anything, instead he followed Trayvon, Trayvon was weary of being followed, which is prudent, we always tell children and teen agers watch out for people following you. Since when has conservative started to blame the victim??? He was not a hood, he was a normal teen ager walking home in the rain, he had no idea Zimmerman had a gun, he was only aware of being followed. Zimmerman could have done several things that would not resulted in the death of Trayvon. He could had stayed in his car, he could have identified himself, he could have told Trayvon he had a gun. The moment Zimmerman got out of the car he had the upper hand because he had a gun. Nothing in Trayvon's past suggest that he was not hood, or gangsta, he was a normal teen-ager, that did not deserve to die.
@ July, 14 ~ 4:32...I am very sorry, if you have also been a victim of racism by African-Americans, but that subject matter swings "both" ways.
I had great African-American Family friends that lived, & raised their family in Bernal Heights, that were victimize by White Neighbors that harassed them, and vandalized their property. And you want to know why, because a White Woman from Oregon, that lived across the street & two houses down was pissed about the parking spot in front of "their house!" This Black Family had lived peacefully, and raised a family for almost 40 years in BH, then this person arrived about 24 years ago. This Woman slandered the black family, & turned all the existing white neighbors against them, till finally they moved, because one of her cohorts made a threating gesture towards one of their kids.
So don't get it twisted, even in so called "tolerant" San Francisco, racism exist towards Black folks.
TBH 10:28 the truth is, people should not park their cars in front of neighbor's homes, anywhere, and that includes their "friends" too. That stuff with parking places happens in suburbia too, regardless of color. So it wasn't "racism", but just pissed-off neighbor politics. And that happens every single day everywhere, it's not a black/white issue.
^^^Ah...I think not, this Black Family was held to a double standard in the neighborhood. Whereas, other "white" neighbors could do whatever they wanted regarding parking spaces, that the Black Family could not.
This woman that lived across the street, & two doors down from the ONLY black family in this area of the block actually instructed her friends to block the Family in questions drive-way. So that they could not park their vehicle in their own garage!
These white neighbors in Bernal Heights were also in denial about their Racist Views about Black folks also, who did absolutely nothing to these people to cause the harassment they had to endure. After 24 years of this woman's BS, my friends moved, & rightly so.
"Let's face it; if Martin hadn't been wearing a hoodie and had just backed off when George Zimmerman had approached and questioned him, instead of attacking him, he'd probably be alive today."
Oh, please. Zuckerberg wears a hoodie and faces no such threat. Furthermore, if wannabe-cop Zimmerman had stayed in his car, as instructed, the outcome would've been very different.
It's twisted logic like yours and the fact that America still can't deal with its race issues that make you the deserved target of European editorials today.
As instructed? By whom? A 911 operator? Please. If you watched the trial 911 operators have no authority on anyone. They're not officers. That's just a dumb liberal canard that libs are posting over and over.
Where are all you "tough" guys who claimed Travon was dressed like a "gangsta"...was a hood, like the courageous 9:29 here? I'm sure you wouldn't be so weak as to not be able look at the picture of Travon immediately after being murdered, right?(see link in my post oabove) What specific item of his clothing do you find gangsta? Not a single one of you is capable of speaking to that directly, because it's a load of dingoes kidneys. If your precious spawn were male and Travon's age, would you think he was a gangsta for dressing like Travon? Would it justify him being shot? as for 12:02...I thought "liberals" didn't have guns. Would that make me conservative? because I'm a gun owner?pro-military? pro civil rights? anti-untrammelled immigration?or just too complicated for you to conveniently categorize? I'm looking again at that picture of dead Travon. Skinny jeans, cuffs turned up evenly , clean white sneaks with red trim(very preppy, actually),two shirts on a rainy night, one with a hood. Of course weknow that only liberal gangsters wear a sweatshirt with a hood..right? ...anonymous racist cowards..
I'll take a shot. He shouldn't have been killed whatsoever. I agree with Christine on that.
Consider, however, the "evidence" that wasn't allowed to be admitted -- by a snippy, prosecution biased judge.
How about those gold "gansta" teeth? The autopsy report that showed THC in this "child's" body. The tweets from his phone about his securing and selling pot? How about the history of gun trades and sales? Fact? Sure. But not relevant to the case of "self defense". This wasn't about "Murder 1".
To the gun-toting Annie Oakley, Christine Craft, you "carry" (allegedly) for the same reason -- personal defense. Was Zimmerman guilty? Certainly. He admitted so by stating that he shot the "child" at point blank range during a scuffle.
Did it really become necessary for a bright 17-year-old to walk around for 40 minutes, being followed, or more important to get "Skittles and Arizona Fruit Punch"? Why not just go home and tell dad, "I'm being followed by a whach-o?
What about that 4-minute gap that the defense trotted out? Sure, it may have been only 2-minutes and dead kids don't talk. No one knows.
The unwise "Rachel" was no help to her "friend." My happy ass would have told her "goodbye" and I'd be on the phone to 9-1-1 pronto. You would be too, Christine.
No, we want to treat this as "Us vs. Them" again to trot out Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton -- both champions of civil rights -- and scandal on their own hands, as Zimmerman has the blood of Martin's on his.
Christine, you are for only one side -- yours. 330-million people of ALL persuasions do not necessariy see it your way. Certainly, still, where non-involved businesses in Oakland, LA, New York and Dallas need violence to "prove a point." It's a stupid way of doing it. This isn't about British Tea in Boston Harbor. This is about life and death, not non-representative taxation in a break from Monarchy Rule.
Christine, if you were right, everybody would be "liberal". We're not. Check the voter rolls. You might be surprised.
so, according to you, I'm a democrat? wrong. I believe everyone agrees with my view on this? wrong Having gold fillings..makes you a gangsta who deserves to be killed? wrong. Having a miniscule amount of thc in your system makes you evil? prone to fight? wrong Are you struggling to look at the picture of dead Travon and then make an argument that he is dressed as a "gangsta" and deserves to die?... What did it for you?no socks? no baggy pants? the cuffs neatly turned up at the ankle? wearing a typical sweatshirt on a rainy night? grounds to say he was asking for it? all wrong. Your allegations about my gun ownership are baseless. Your belief that wacko is spelled "whach-o" , is that a right wing deal?or are you just not the brightest bulb? I think George Zimmerman is going to discover exactly what it's like to be stalked, or even worse, imagine being stalked for the rest of his life. Do you think that's true?
Christine, when a person's head is being banged repeatedly on the ground with blood spurting out, along with a nose that is bleeding and broken, I would say he has the right to shoot the guy. It was either that or lose his life.
If you watched the trial you wold have seen that, and TM's side going back on saying the voice on the tape was TM not GZ, they at first said it was not his.
Hence that is how the jury ruled.
An aside - aren't you Christine Craft - unemployed Bay Area radio personality who can't find work? Just wondering.
Since you so frequently criticize and dismiss posters who make trivial and inadvertant typos, I'd like to point out that you have quite a few typos in your post.
The name is "Travyon", not "Travon." If you can't even get that simple fact right, how can we rely on anything else you write? Based on your other posts, these errors are indicative of sloppy thinking.
George Zimmerman, Johannes Meserle, Richard Jewell, and the John Candy character in the first Vacation movie. Four doofus wanna-be cops. The latest on GZ: "After his acquittal on murder charges for fatally shooting Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman may go to law school to help people wrongly accused of crimes like himself, close friends told Reuters on Sunday." Best part 'wrongly accused like himself'. good grief.
dear 1:44 According to you the absolutely, positively only way to spell the name is "TRAVYON"?
There is a difference between typos and poor grammar.
for the anonymous soul at 11:20 who states that Trayvon Martin was in gang attire when killed, complete with a " gold grill", I'm looking at the picture of him , dead on the ground. I see his teeth..they are not gold.
I know for you that is a reason to fear death from someone, can you see his teeth in the death pic, or are you so blinded by your racism that you see "gold" where none is? You must be so disappointed. Similarly, your certainty that I'm a gun-toting Annie Oakley(oh, to be that good of a shot) is based on an "allegation" from whom? Being a gun owner does not mean that one carries or has a permit to do so. County sheriffs issue permits to carry. Those lists are public record. Do you know how to access them?
9:12...So it's your contention that Trayvon Martin had gold teeth ,tattoos, drugs etc. when he met George Zimmerman for both the first and the last time? Did you pour over the picture of the dead young man just hoping you could find a gold tooth? some baggy pants? some other indicia of not "acting white enough" that would justify killing him? Could you point out those attributes in the one photo that matters? You probably think the angelic photo of Trayvon in his red t-shirt was taken when he was twelve, don't you? Better check your internets again..try Snopes.
"As instructed? By whom? A 911 operator? Please. If you watched the trial 911 operators have no authority on anyone. They're not officers. That's just a dumb liberal canard that libs are posting over and over."
Ah,yes. Resort to the wing-nut playbook when all else fails. The fact is that your chunky hero created a situation that resulted in the death of an unarmed teen and he did so against the instructions of the 911 operator who said, "We don't need you to do that," when Zimmerman stated that he was following Trayvon. At that point, the dispatcher and anyone with a modicum of common sense (apparently this excludes you) would realize that the dispatcher wanted Zimmerman to stay put. Instead, he ignored the dispatcher and lied about it (along with nearly everything else). Had he ceded the situation to actual police officers instead of playing Rambo, the world wouldn't know of his cowardice and loons wouldn't be forced to make idiots of themselves defending him.
One good thing about Christine She unites people. Regardless of our opinions on other matters, we can all agree about what a singularly disagreeable person she is.
You were the one schooling me on the proper spelling of "Trayvon" as "Travyon", right? Someone named "anonymous".It was funny, wasn't it? I think you should train yourself to not read my posts. They are very easy to avoid. You see, I use my real name, not "anonymous". Can you please try? BTW...did you look at the pic of dead Trayvon? Tell us what you thought. Be brave.
Christine, perhaps you could train yourself to not review movies you haven't seen, not criticize non-documentary movies for being inaccurate, not posting links to gore porn, not lecturing the world about spelling and punctuation, and not saluting an anchor woman for reading Ho Lee Fuk on the air.
Where's the gore in the picture of dead Trayvon Martin? Or perhaps I should inquire, do you know what "gore " means? There is no blood or open injury visible in that picture, is there? There is also no indicia of "gangsta" attire. Is there? where? I made no mention of the "HO LEE" part of the punked names debacle, just the "fuk" part, which Tori wisely pronounced "fook". Good for her. There is a major difference between typographical error and the lack of spelling or grammar skills. If I've not seen a movie or read a book about which there is controversy, I say so.I don't pretend otherwise, as some do, even on the radio. One is not barred from commenting about a review in a major city's daily newspaper which describes the film's maker as admitting they took significant liberties with the truth. I do have to marvel at your ability to convene a cabal of all the people named anonymous to vote on how disturbed you are at how right I am re: Trayvon's appearance...some gangster!
Congratulations Rich, your prediction about the verdict, which you repeated incessantly on your show last week, WAS 100% WRONG.
ReplyDeleteWill you man-up and own it? Likely you'll bury this like any other inconvenient truths.
**WAS 100% WRONG**
DeleteYes, I was wrong. As were others. I forgot it was Florida. I'm ready to move on.
There really is no winner here. Two families lives have forever been altered.
You forgot the case was in Florida? That's surprising.
Delete> Congratulations Rich, your prediction ... WAS 100% WRONG.
DeleteWatch it. He's likely to tell you to eff off and then stuff your anatomy down a toilet if you point out things like this.
Hey Rich
DeleteWhat's it like having egg on your face?
How is that crow you are eating? Was it deep fried?
Rich,

I would disagree, Zimmerman had authority over Trayvon Martin from his HOA. As for Trayvon we are not talking about an 11 year old. He was a 17 year old Pot Smoking Trouble maker. Should he have been Killed? I think he picked a fight with the wrong person and lost.

I intend to see Fruitvale Station...but I was annoyed by the revelation that the film contains deliberate false attributes, given to mr. grant's characterization. DeleteChristine criticizes a movie she hasn't seen, complains about a dramatic movie's accuracy when it doesn't purport to be a factual documentation, and then "salutes" a news person who pronounced a foolish fictitious Asian name arguably inaccurately.
DeleteChristine, you've got us rolling in the aisles. Maybe you should try standup comedy.
"So it is your view..."
DeleteIn my view, you probably pulling my leg, but you might be an idiot.
So like just about everything else, Christine is an expert on movies. She doesn't even have to see them to lecture others about them. She has a rare gift.
Delete3:35 PM:
DeleteIf you're comparing this movie to Fargo then you've already lost.
Mr. L. -
DeleteDid your apartment or house get "tagged" with graffiti over the weekend? You're lucky, considering you did nothing but primed the pump on the Zimmerman trial all week.
It is interesting how the movie came out and the verdict was decided on the same weekend. I feel badly for both the families of Trayvon Martin and Oscar Grant. Neither young man deserved to be murdered, and Johannes Meserle and George Zimmerman will have to live with the terrible mistakes they made for the rest of their lives. Both also should have received at least five years in jail.
ReplyDeleteJust imagine if Martin would have been a nicely dressed polite boy. I bet my earthly possesions that the outcome would have been 100% different. Instead he chose a thug and gangsta lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a teachable moment for black america. The thug mentality will get you killed. These so called black leaders should stand up and call upon other blackleaders to protest the thug and gangsta mentality.
Though I agree with your comment to some degree, I'm not sure it applies to Martin as much as Grant.
DeleteAs a white male, being a black in the U.S. seems like a real hassle.
DeleteAs an immigrant; albeit a white one; I have been subject to racism from US born people as well.
DeleteExactly what evidence do you have that Trayvon Martin was a Thug, or living a "Gangsta Lifestyle?" It seems like everyone who wants to Justify the Murder of Trayvon Martin's murder by Zimmerman wants to Stereotype TM as a Thug, which he was not! Trayvon was minding his OWN Business, trying to make it home, when this kook Profiled him, Stalked him, & Murdered him!
DeleteHe was a High School Teenager, did he do dumb things, yes, was he a Gangsta Thug...NO!
Just read his text messages.
DeleteI dont get this about " white" talk.
DeleteGZ was and is not white. He is a latino. Get your facts straight.
> There are a lot of bad and good people in this world, and they come in ALL colors.
DeleteMost of the violent ones in every country come in one color and every statistic available supports that.
Photographic evidence shows Trayvon as someone with a gold grill, a mustache, smoking dope & handling guns. This was on his own phone.
DeleteThe media chose to portray Trayvon as a really adorable 12 year old for some reason, and also called GZ WHITE for the longest time, then decided on WHITE HISPANIC.
1:27, the head of the NAACP has to be dark and 100% African American?
DeleteI'm a member too, and am 0% African American.
I'll bet my earthly possessions that you are full of shiite.Try this on for size:
ReplyDeletehttp://gawker.com/this-courtesy-of-msnbc-is-trayvon-martins-dead-body-753370712
Interesting that you have to shoot the messenger and have to refer to name calling instead of coming up with valid counter arguments. A very bad debater you are.
DeleteFor those who didn't bother, it's a graphic image of Trayvon Martin's dead body. Christine is one sick AND ANGRY woman.
DeleteNo respect for the dead? Nice manners Rich and Chris.
DeleteJust another bad talk show host.
DeleteI guess this is what Christine gets off on, graphic images of young dead males.
DeleteChristine Craft . . . the queeen of mean.
DeleteAnd Christine wonders why she was demoted by Metromedia. LOL!
DeleteI do? Metromedia no longer exists...for the record.
DeleteLet's face it; if Martin hadn't been wearing a hoodie and had just backed off when George Zimmerman had approached and questioned him, instead of attacking him, he'd probably be alive today.
ReplyDeleteAnd if Oscar Grant had just not made a big deal about everything and started fighting with the BART cops, he wouldn't have been in the position to get cuffed and then mistakenly shot by Meserle, who was trying to taser him and mistakenly shot him in the back with his gun.
ReplyDelete4:46 It's a photograph of the deceased, shortly after being shot by George Zimmerman.
DeleteI've had the misfortune to view dead bodies but I've never enjoyed it as much as Christine.
DeleteChristine, we all have fantasies. You might want to keep your excitement with shot dead males to yourself.
Of course you don't "owe" me anything. However, the poster(s) to whom I responded said Trayvon Martin was a gangsta and that the black community needed some schooling on how to act white. Why would you be so afraid to put your name to that?
DeleteI'm not afraid to put my name on what I write.I offer no pretense that it makes me "better than anyone else."
Christine, the only deficit here is between your ears.
DeleteYes Christine. You are so right. Sorry that English is my 3rd language. Ofcourse how could I be so dumb. A counter argument is an argument at a counter. And I thought I was stupid.
ReplyDeleteYou are a bad talk show host and a worse debater.
DeleteChristine Craft.
Delete"Angry? you're damned right I am"
Jump back everyone. The meanest white woman at KGO is here. Prowling this website.
use your dictionary(it's a volume describing the meaning(s) and spellings of words..
Deletecounterargument
How about the chief prosecutor for the State of Floriday who overcharged, lied to the court in forms filed and stood there with a shit-eating grin during the press conferent defending her legal team> She's an idiot.
ReplyDeleteAlan Dershowitz said today that she should be disbarred she was so awful in handling this case for the state and totally screwed-the-pooch.
I'll give you my take on it....on the radio. Clue: I won't be blaming Trayvon Martin for what some folks in Oakland did to the Sears windows.
DeleteTrayvon Martin was a hood.
ReplyDeleteAs others have stated so well here, he challenged a man with a gun and came up on the losing end of that proposition.
Delete@ July, 14 ~ 4:32...I am very sorry, if you have also been a victim of racism by African-Americans, but that subject matter swings "both" ways.
ReplyDeleteI had great African-American Family friends that lived, & raised their family in Bernal Heights, that were victimize by White Neighbors that harassed them, and vandalized their property.
Delete^^^Ah...I think not, this Black Family was held to a double standard in the neighborhood. Whereas, other "white" neighbors could do whatever they wanted regarding parking spaces, that the Black Family could not.
DeleteThis woman that lived across the street, & two doors down from the ONLY black family in this area of the block actually instructed her friends to block the Family in questions drive-way.
ReplyDeleteOh, please.
DeleteWhere are all you "tough" guys who claimed Travon was dressed like a "gangsta"...was a hood, like the courageous 9:29 here? I'm sure you wouldn't be so weak as to not be able look at the picture of Travon immediately after being murdered, right?(see link in my post oabove) What specific item of his clothing do you find gangsta? Not a single one of you is capable of speaking to that directly, because it's a load of dingoes kidneys. If your precious spawn were male and Travon's age, would you think he was a gangsta for dressing like Travon? Would it justify him being shot?
ReplyDeleteas for 12:02...I thought "liberals" didn't have guns.
DeleteConsider, however, the "evidence" that wasn't allowed to be admitted -- by a snippy, prosecution biased judge.
You might be surprised.
so, according to you, I'm a democrat? wrong.
DeleteI believe everyone agrees with my view on this? wrong
Having gold fillings..makes you a gangsta who deserves to be killed? wrong.
Having a miniscule amount of thc in your system makes you evil? prone to fight? wrong
Are you struggling to look at the picture of dead Travon and then make an argument that he is dressed as a "gangsta" and deserves to die?...
"gun-toting Annie Oakley, Christine Craft"
DeleteVery good. You stole my thunder 11:20am poster.
Christine, when a person's head is being banged repeatedly on the ground with blood spurting out, along with a nose that is bleeding and broken, I would say he has the right to shoot the guy. It was either that or lose his life.
DeleteIf you watched the trial you wold have seen that, and TM's side going back on saying the voice on the tape was TM not GZ, they at first said it was not his.
Hence that is how the jury ruled.
An aside - aren't you Christine Craft - unemployed Bay Area radio personality who can't find work? Just wondering.
Christine:
DeleteSince you so frequently criticize and dismiss posters who make trivial and inadvertant typos, I'd like to point out that you have quite a few typos in your post.
The name is "Travyon", not "Travon." If you can't even get that simple fact right, how can we rely on anything else you write? Based on your other posts, these errors are indicative of sloppy thinking.
"Where are all you "tough" guys who..."
ReplyDeleteEverybody moved their attention to the new topic for today. Kindly join that discussion so that we can be further amazed with your superhuman logic.
Rich, have you ever considered doing PA work at Safeway?
DeleteBehind the scenes comment from George Zimmerman just before the not guilty verdict came in:
ReplyDelete"I'm going to be exonerated. I guarantee it!"
George Zimmerman, Johannes Meserle, Richard Jewell, and the John Candy character in the first Vacation movie. Four doofus wanna-be cops.
ReplyDeleteThe latest on GZ:
"After his acquittal on murder charges for fatally shooting Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman may go to law school to help people wrongly accused of crimes like himself, close friends told Reuters on Sunday."
Best part 'wrongly accused like himself'. good grief.
dear 1:44 According to you the absolutely, positively only way to spell the name is "TRAVYON"?
ReplyDeleteThere is a difference between typos and poor grammar.
for the anonymous soul at 11:20 who states that Trayvon Martin was in gang attire when killed, complete with a " gold grill", I'm looking at the picture of him , dead on the ground.
Good old Christine, when all else fails, criticize spelling.
DeleteWhy must this insufferable woman continue to haunt this website?
Dearest Annie Oakley - I'm sorry, "Real Name Christine", maybe this will help you sort it out:
Deletehttp://the-american-journal.com/trayvon-tattoos-gold-teeth-drugs-violence/
Sure looks like gold bling to me in that mouth, and I was being kind my not mentioning the tats.
Gotta run ... must check my spelling for typos.
Yes I do know how to access them, Christine. Thanks for asking.
DeleteKeep packin' heat.
DeleteYou probably think the angelic photo of Trayvon in his red t-shirt was taken when he was twelve, don't you? Better check your internets again..try Snopes.
There is no need to tear up Oakland or anyother city. Do you want change? Then learn the LAW and let it work for you.
ReplyDelete"As instructed? By whom? A 911 operator? Please. If you watched the trial 911 operators have no authority on anyone. They're not officers. That's just a dumb liberal canard that libs are posting over and over."
ReplyDeleteAh,yes.
One good thing about Christine
ReplyDeleteShe unites people. Regardless of our opinions on other matters, we can all agree about what a singularly disagreeable person she is.
You were the one schooling me on the proper spelling of "Trayvon" as "Travyon", right? Someone named "anonymous".It was funny, wasn't it?
ReplyDeleteI think you should train yourself to not read my posts.
DeleteWhere's the gore in the picture of dead Trayvon Martin? Or perhaps I should inquire, do you know what "gore " means? There is no blood or open injury visible in that picture, is there?
DeleteThere is also no indicia of "gangsta" attire. Is there?
Christine, reading your oddly disjointed comments I'm just wondering, have you ever had a portion of your cerebral cortex surgically removed?
Delete
