Tori Campbell was NOT on the air Monday Morning on her KTVU "Mornings on 2" program, but there's a reason. A convenient reason but nonetheless interesting.
A source close to the station told me that she wasn't suspended nor reprimanded over "Namegate." In fact, Campbell had a long-ago-planned family vacation.
In this case, the timing could not have come at a better time for Campbell; not so much for KTVU.

You know what would be funny in a sardonic, way? If Tori were on vacation sipping her ninth Mint Julep, things are getting a little blurry, she puts her head down for a moment, sits up, takes a deep breath and looks around to find somebody just took the stool next to her, could it possibly be?,,,Why, it's Melanie Morgan! First come the tears, then the rapidly whispered rages. The two ladies spend the rest of the evening laughing, reminiscing about the good times, promising vengeance where deserved, and looking forward to the next chapter in their storied careers. The Bartender, wearing lederhosen and a Robin Hood hat says, Ladies, it's 4am, we're closing, plus we're out of cheese Doritos. Both leave a large tip.
ReplyDeleteShe should have gotton time off. Who in the hell continues reading something that obvious and then has no clue!!!
ReplyDeleteThen why are you here Mr. KTVU management if it's so obvious? We all know it was Lee Rosenthal that authored this racist joke. Now you guys just have to fire him. Rich is just covering what people want him to cover, THE NEWS! Do you guys at KTVU know what that is?
DeleteWanna get away?!
ReplyDeletePrecisely 7:09am.
DeleteAs entertaining as the KTVU namegate story is, I was really enjoying the coverage of the KSFO morning show train wreck the week before. Are there any updates on how absolutely awful Brian Sussman's morning show is doing? I tuned in while on the road last week and he had Joseph Farrah on for a lap dance
ReplyDeleteSometimes vacations are either coincidence or fortuitous. I recall some years ago when there was a protest in Oakland. Darya Folsom was called in the result was not good. Her running commentary made things seem worse than it was, and was shrill and inane. The station got tons of complaints about her behavior. And guess what? Just after that she went on either vacation or took some personal time off.
ReplyDeleteCoincidence or fortuitous?
I agree with 7,45, I'd like to hear more As The World Burns soap opera stuff on ksfo. Meanwhile, guess what I just heard? Paula Deen is planning to appear as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars! I hope she does it and has a ball. No need to wear sackcloth and ashes forever for one little ol mistake.
ReplyDeleteThere is a blackface joke in that PD DWTS scenario somewhere ....

ReplyDeleteFIVE TOPICS YOU CAN BLOG ABOUT INSTEAD OF TORIGATE:
ReplyDelete1) Where the hell does Julie Haenar get her outfits? Every night it's worse than before. Sometimes she looks like she's wearing a bathrobe. Or a shower curtian.
2) Who's the doe-eyed co-anchor they've saddled Vicky Liviakis with on the weekend? I've hit more intelligent-looking deer with my car.
3) What will KPIX do if the Bay Bridge does not open on time? Broadcast the test pattern that day?
4) Has anyone ever told Da Lin he looks like a vampire?
5) Why do they always say "Take a look at this" when showing video and then the lower-third super covers most of "this" up?
"Where the hell does Julie Haenar get her outfits? Every night it's worse than before."
ReplyDeleteThe outfits don't annoy as much as the constant head-dipping to emphasize a point. It's as though she thinks her audience is incapable of basic comprehension.
Is Tori respected in the industry? Once in the 90’s, she was doing a piece on the STAR tests. The graphic contained sample questions from the test – EASY grade school math questions – and she answered them wrong. Never bothered to watch KTVU when she was on again.
