While You Were Crapped Out at the Job from 9-Noon on Thursday, KNBR and KGO went to the Crapper

On Knibber, from 9- Noon, the bloated one and his students uttered sweet and sour nothings.

And on KGO, The Monte was spewing something or another

  1. Why does The Monte have to yell? It's Neanderthal. I'd rather hear Maureen, any day. Karel is also more intelligent by magnitude than this knucklehead.

Really, KGO? This is your sub for Ronn Owens?

Gag me. I just lost my breakfast and I have no appetite for lunch after listening to the perfect father and perfect husband.

I rarely listen to this yellman, but when I have, I've heard him praise himself on being such a great father and a great husband.

I wonder if his wife and son feel that way. Good fathers and good husbands find no need to bring their spouses and children into their shows to "prove" to the audience how "good" they are.

Barf. I just lost my appetite for dinner after listening to this Neanderthal. Oh, excuse me, and please pardon my insults to all Neanderthals for comparing them to THE YELLOER THE MONTE 1800-eight-ten, or whatever it is.

How about having The Monte call 1-800-Crisis-line?

    1. the rumor about town is they don't have to pay Monty to fill in for Ronn like they do others because he's salaried. To no one's surprise he comes cheap. They didn't want this guy at 95.7 The Game to do sports which he's not terrible at but KGO wanted him on the air doing news? Great job. How come Karel never fills in?

    2. I would hope that he is cheap, he is a total idiot, doesn't think the constitution is relevant, and perhaps never was (Gene Burns is turning over in his grave) he wants to ban pit bulls, because you can't tell a 6 year old child not to ride it like a pony, I'm not fond of pit bulls, but please come up with a better argument. His arguments has no nuances. The new guy on 910, Frosty is better, but he is following the Gil Gross format, which is totally boring, and not talk radio, don't know what to call it. It is more a new format, by a host who is conversational. Why are the not taking callers? I like to hear what other listeners is thinking.

    3. Tim Monte has no brain.

    4. One positive thing about Monte's approach to radio talk, especially when he's scheduled to do his weekend program, followed by fill-in for Ronn: IT SAVES A GREAT DEAL OF TIME.

If you listen to him for 2 days, you don't have to bother for the next 3 or 4. It'll be the same program.

    5. From Rich's playbook too. He does the same thing. It's become a personal "it's about me" rant period.

  2. Oh, my goodness! Did I really hear The Monte argue that there was significant gang activity in professional football? Honestly? Monte is, of course, a self-appraised expert in such matters because he has told us of his coverage of the NFL for a long period of time.

Dear Monte, Please provide the following: PROOF! So what about Hernandez's alleged tattoos.

Are you saying tattoos are synonymous with gang activity? "Gang activity that we the fans don't realize" (a paraphrase)

I want proof from self-appraised Most Great Husband and Most Great Father, such as:

    1) empirical statistics that prove what The Monte alleged as truth is the truth

    2) How many current NFL players are actual gang members

    3) the gangs they belong to

    4) Monte's source or sources for such profound knowledge

    5) Monte's interview with with Mr. Goodell alleging such gang affiliation

    6) the publication of the NFL's 2008 study of gang signs ALLEGEDLY being used on the field (I think this is the most recent study)

    7) coverage of The Monte being fired for such irresponsible allegations. This is far worse (and potentially defamatory) than Kare's use of the "F" word.

  3. I was driving down 101 in the mini-van with my mom - and SHE turned off the radio (KGO) explaining it was bothering her!

  4. Why even waste the time of day talking about the dreck that passes for radio today, especially when it concerns a station owned by Cumullus? That company has absolutely no clue what they're doing, and it's amazing to me that they stay in the business. They're obviously not interested in putting a quality product on the air, because all they care about is the precious bottom-line and what their shareholders might think when the profits get too small.

This is what radio has become in the 21st century. An afterthought for most and for others, a cheap way to make a fast buck. Public service...What's that? Hire qualified and experienced broadcasters...why? when you can get cheap young 'talent' that is more than willing to work long hours for peanuts.

    1. Actually, you've obviously not listened to other Cumulus stations. Some aren't bad and border on being damn good. WBAP in Fort Worth / Dallas, WJR Detroit, WPRO Providence, WLS Chicago, KOH Reno and a few others of the 500+ they own.

Not all, grant you, but some. KGO and the SF cluster are the problem children of the company, admittedly.

    2. Excuse me, Professor. Let me acts you a question. Do you think that people who own radio stations are there to do it for free? How about this one, if you owned a radio station, would you do it for free and pay the bills yourself, let along profit? Thirdly, if you made a horrible investment of $2.1 billion just to buy radio stations, do you not think the investors deserve a rich return on their investment(s) or are they just to do it for free?

      Moron.

I'd love to see your business.

    3. I guess it's 7:55's actual belief that the "new" approach to SF broadcasting is more successful financially than what it replaced. 7:55, please inform us as to why you think that.Inquiring minds want to know.

      Delete
    4. Christine, the question isn't whether 7:55 knows that the "new" approach to SF broadcasting will be more successful financially than what it replaced or even whether the "new" approach to SF broadcasting IS ultimately more successful financially than what it replaced.

The new owners have their own business plan, spent their own money to acquire an asset and can run it anyway they please.

    5. No....really? who knew? You state the obvious part. Since broadcast stations are licensed by the federal government to serve the public interest, need, and necessity, the practices thereof should or should not be commented upon? Are you suggesting that northern California broadcasters should not have an opinion about the way various owners program their stations? I'm also unhappy that NPR dumped "Talk of the Nation". Individuals having opinions about how a broadcast license is used doesn't run counter to corporations buying assets and doing with them whatever they will, does it? unless you are an ass kisser.

    6. Too bad they don't give prizes for being an angry, self-important, obnoxious know-it-all, because our beloved Christine would finally achieve something for once in her life.

A mediocre broadcaster and a shoddy lawyer from a crappy law school, she issues her under-informed, "expert" opinions on just about everything and does so in her unique, self-righteous, condescending way.

And so much hostility. She's burned bridges wherever she goes and now blames others for winding up where she is, a nobody with pretensions of being an important, pioneering, female broadcaster.

      What an unhappy, unpleasant person.

      Delete
    7. I've"burned bridges" wherever I've gone? Really? cite some examples, please. What makes me a "shoddy" lawyer?specifically? What makes McGeorge a "crappy" law school? Justice Kennedy?, the most important jurist in the US?
I don't know you. You don't know me. I merely expressed an opinion about having opinions about how the airwaves are utilized or not utilized and for that all you can do is attack me, groundlessly? Why would that be?
I'm very proud of having made the broadcast world safer for folks who want a profession with some tenure. You must recognize yourself in my delineation of what makes an ass kisser.

    8. No one at KSAC was sorry to see Christine go. She is one angry woman.

    9. Christine Craft attended McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento.

In the 2013 US News and World Report law school rankings, McGeorge is ranked 124th of 144 ranked law schools. (1 is tops, 144 is the bottom.)

      End of story.

    10. Christine is mistaken. Everyone who reads her obnoxious comments on this board knows her. She is insufferable.

    11. dear 7:12...there was no one at KSAC.It was a little office in old sacramento with the owner and the owner's daughter.I did the only local show, operated my own board. Who exactly are you referring to? a mythical being who dwells in your alimentary canal?
keep searching, looking desperately with your bing and your google to try to find something you can pretend you know about me.You don't like McGeorge and that's fine, but I'm betting you couldn't survive a day at McGeorge, much less be admitted.
Where's your evidence to support the claim that I'm a "shoddy" lawyer? specifically...come on now, surely you can find some example..right?
As for your contention that everyone "knows me" who reads my "obnoxious" comments, perhaps you could visit a therapist who can teach you how to rein yourself in from reading things that get your bowels into such an uproar.
I must really have messed up your day, asking simply, initially, whether one can question the way the owners of broadcast entities program their stations. What makes you so skittish about that? specifically? Did you just learn for the first time that the airwaves are publically owned?

      Delete
    12. Why does Christine view the world from the prospective of the alimentary canal and bowels???

Perhaps she's remembering her last comfortable environment!

  6. I'm told Cumulus Sales department has hands in the air as well. That Atlanta is taking control of the big fish on sales like Niners, Giants, Warriors and Cal. Any truth to this? If so that's really embarrassing.

    1. Why is that really embarrassing? It's what corporations do. They aren't here to entertain you, lame brain, they're here to makes sales and lots of money. So if that means letting corporate do it, what's the diff? They aren't here to provide it to you for free, you know. Get a grip, man. Where did you learn radio 101?

    2. So you think Atlanta with no relationships does a better sales job than local with relationships? Ok.

  7. There was a 'COMMENT LINE' phone number at KGO before the take-over...does anyone know if there's any current Comment Line at KGO?
Surely miss the old KGO. But Pat Thurston is brilliant, wish she'd switch to Green-960. Love Christian Craft as well!
KGO---Didn't know what a treasure we had till it was gone.

  8. I think you have to post something on their facebook page. After everyone was fired, they still have an e-mail under "contact", but no more, they probably got tired of all the nasty mail they received. I send my share, not real nasty, just telling them what I thought of the new format, and their lesser than brilliant hosts.
Send them positive e-mail when the had good hosts, Stacy Taylor, Peter B, that did a lot of good, NOT. Anyway I e-mailed them several times a week the first few weeks after the change.
