  1. Lady Thatcher defined leadership and the clarity of vision. There are some professions that by necessity, reward those who can combine a huge ego or feeling of self confidence with a calculated courage. My surgeon is brave and is daring enough to inflict a little discomfort toward the goal of healing and overall benefit. I was in the Navy during the early 1980's and many of those out of work people on the dole blamed her for their misfortunes. Many adored her and still do, while some hate her viciously to this day. The Brits have an elephants' memory for social grudges, especially if they are on the losing end of a politician's mandate. Thank you Ms. Thatcher, for doing your part to push for the break up of the Soviet Union and it's tightly held territories.

    1. A reminder to those naive enough to defend her:

She deliberately provoked a war under false pretenses that cost thousands of lives. (Little known fact: Britain has now lost as many Falklands veterans to suicide as it lost in the fighting itself).

She deliberately drove Britain into recession to destroy the unions and to "prove" her absurd Reaganist economic policies.

She sold off national assets and used the money not for the benefit of the country but to line the pockets of political supporters.

She practiced the politics of authoritarianism, populism, xenophobia, nationalism, and class division.

And as the most powerful woman in politics, she kicked away the ladder for those below her, having fewer women in her cabinets than any prime minister in modern history.

Oh, and long before she became prime minister, her defining act in government was to take away the glass of free milk that was provided to every primary school child in order to ensure that even the poorest child of the least competent parents was getting a nutritional breakfast (something that science shows is profoundly correlated with good performance and behavior in schools). At the time the Brits derided her as "Thatcher the Snatcher". How little they realized that they had been given a warning glimpse into her true heart.

    1. We expect -- and Rich consistently and unfailingly provides -- the best guests on "Lieberman Live!" That's why I'm a regular listener. If I miss Rich, as I do on occasion, I listen the podcast. You'll learn more from listening to three hours of the "Rich Lieberman Program" than any other talk show on radio today. Don't believe me? Then you haven't been listening to Rich!

  3. What do Cuba, Russia and North Korea have in common with Rich Lieberman? They all do a great job of censoring the truth.

    1. It is ludicrous to suggest that Rich does anything remotely resembling "censorship" in screening comments and, as a result, exercising prudent discretion in choosing not to post those few that are defamatory, personal attacks, off subject, or otherwise of such a nature that they would detract from the purpose and tenor of this blog.

Be assured that in doing so, Rich exercises the utmost restraint and care. Rational and reasonable readers of this blog realize that if he let everything get posted, Internet trolls with their flaming posts would take over. They are intent on ruining this place of sanity and serenity for discussing Bay Area media and promoting "Lieberman Live" on KOMY AM 1340.

    2. Rich must be slipping ... 4:17's comment go through.

    3. 5:59 - Excuse me, but how do you know of how and why Rich "censors" posts he doesn't want to see nor have others see? Are you privvy to the posts that may be proper comments or critiques?

Rich is a part of the "Bay Area media" and as such, while skewing so many others without justification as he does (hello, Ronn Owens, David Weintraub, Cumulus, Clear Channel, etc.) the audience and readers do not get the chance, though invited, to "censor" Rich for his often blantant attacks on others as proven, and his level of bravado and bragging that are unjustified.

I know, it's his place. However, to hide behind HIS keyboard as he accuses others is hypocrital.

Your support is much appreciated and well stated, but the lack of credibility and reputation in a "public" forum is not.

Excuses can't be made just on flaming Internet trolls. It applies to both sides of your very thoughtful and well-meaning posts that is, frankly, wrong, in this opinion. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, as I hope others good, bad and indifferent will be considered. Thank you very much.

    4. 7:36 PM: Rich does not "hide behind his keyboard." He's out there front and center with a high-profile public persona; well known and easily recognizable.

The same can't be said of the Internet trolls who hide behind their anonymity. He has invited them on many occasions to call and debate him on his radio program, but so far none of these cowardly trolls has done so.

Rich does not censor comments posted anonymously by readers of this blog, including those that are critical of his posts here or his daily radio talk show, "Lieberman Live," which is aired on KOMY 1340 (and occasionally simulcast on KSCO 1080).

Once again, to make it clear, he does at times, as dictated by prudence, not allow certain comments to be posted IF they are defamatory, personal attacks, off subject, or way too long. Any reasonable person would have to agree that some moderation of the comments on Rich's part is necessary so that all of us can enjoy and get some benefit from reading this blog. Otherwise, the Internet trolls would completely takeover and ruin "415 Media" for all of us.

How do I know that, you ask? How can I be so certain that Rick isn't engaging in massive and unrestrained censorship?

Simple. Anyone can read this blog and see the many remarks posted anonymously that are scathing and unrelenting in their criticism of Rich. They didn't just slip through or escape his watchful eye because he was lax. He let them be posted because he can take it. Call him sometime this week on KOMY and engage him on the air about your allegations. We the listeners will be waiting, and we'll listen to what you have to say. Give it your best shot!

    6. I'm not sure how I fit in to this because Rich hasn't skewered me, but I also have no idea if he censors. The most reading I've done of the blog has taken place the last month, since I've received more air time.

That said, maybe I need to go back and read some posts! - David Weintraub

P.s. if he did I wouldn't be bothered. Crocodile-like skin. Anyone who knows me is aware that I only care about the bad stuff, and I'm more aware than most anyway.

    1. Mr. Lieberman:

Listening to your return engagement to KOMY today, this perception about you.

Are you manic-depressive by any chance?

Your assessment of yoursef by how you come across is indicative of one with low self-esteem and, clearly, past problems. Good for working through them.

    3. I don't charge as much as a county therapist or a practicioner does. Maybe I'll send you a discount coupon. Thanks, Rich. Good post.

    4. Low self-esteem? If that's your take on Rich, it's probably because you're comparing him to those other talk show hosts with incredibly huge egos and conflating low self-esteem with Rich's modesty and refreshing down-to-earth persona.
