Mark Curtis just gave me his summation for the Election results.
He too, likes Obama, with a huge twist!
Curtis:
Obama wins the Electoral College 277 to 261
Romney wins the popular vote, barely.
In the Battle ground states I predict the winners are:
Obama: Ohio, Nevada, Iowa and Wisconsin.
Romney: Florida, Virginia, New Hampshire, North Carolina and Colorado.
So, it's a one state race. If Romney can take either Ohio OR Wisconsin, he wins. He does not need both.
On the other hand, if Obama wins Florida OR Virginia (he does not need both), just go to bed. There is no way, even if Romney wins Ohio, that he can still win without Virgina AND Florida.
The key thing to watch in the exit polls, is how man young voters (ages 18 to 30) turn out this year as compared to 2008. If there is a substantial drop in youth vote turnout, Obama could be in trouble. He won 70 percent of this group in 2008.
Odds and Ends: Democrats hold the the U.S. Senate, but have a net loss of one seat. Republicans hold the U.S.House by a large margin!

Obama's popular vote down due to the east coast storm by 250,000 but won't cost him electoral votes.
ReplyDeleteYep, Obama & Romney at this moment are both tied at 48% to 48%... Obama received no Mandate, he will just have to deal with the Republican House, & Democratic Senate. This will not be easy, with such a divisive election. We are basically left with the same players we had in place before, and we all know how that turned out...
DeleteA great interactive chart if you haven't already seen it:

Technically, Romney has a path to a win if Obama wins Florida, but it requires (unlikely) wins all the other battleground states (see the thread down the left side)
I predict either Obama or Romney will win the election. Let's se if I am right.
ReplyDeleteOh,yes, the electoral vote. Republicans who hate big gov.and any social equality programs..hate one man,one vote! No,when it comes to voting--- a socialist system they fight for!
ReplyDeleteGod I hate them.
S
I was talking historically of course.
DeleteMark Curtis needs a new crystal ball!
ReplyDeleteNah, current crystal ball does need to go in and get it's tires rotated and a 10,000 mile oil change, though! Cheers!
DeleteAs I told the Chron's Debra Saunders last week,Obama wins both electoral and popular, congress stays as is.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great morning!
4 more years of garbage. Those that pay taxes = pay more; those on welfare = stay there - we'll bail your asses out.
ReplyDeleteGreat Job America - here we go again. Then Senator - now two time President.
"The fact that we are here today to debate raising america's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the us government cannot pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our government's reckless fiscal policies.
Increasing america's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, "the buck stops here.' instead, washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."
~ SENATOR BARACK H. OBAMA, MARCH 2006
