He's lucky. I'm thinking he'll feel that tonight after the adrenaline wears off. The ball went into centerfield from there. Hope he's ok. Concussion, maybe?
for some reason i kept thinking about the horror of a pitcher being hit in the head by a batted ball. this went on for 2 or 3 days before i went to the Brandon McCarthy game. i can still hear the crack of the bat and hear the crack of Brandon's skull... helmets please!
to 9:23 and 12:43 - yes, let's take infrequent situations and make legislation to "protect" everyone. Isn't that what this country's lawmakers (lawyers) do best.
@8:48 I knew some big Libertarian type would pipe in. By your rationale football players should still use leather helmets and hockey players should be able to play without a helmet. Pitchers getting hit by line drives is not so infrequent as you think.
Pitchers should be required to wear a helmet. This sh*t is funny until the day someone does not get up from a hit to their dome.
ReplyDeleteYeah, after what happened to Brandon McCarthy, I refrain from laughing at this.

Same thing that happened to Brandon McCarthy.
ReplyDeleteOoooh, that's gotta hurt.

ReplyDeleteRemember Tony Conigliaro? His hit was a career ender but he did a stint at KGO TV and was well received by local fans.
