Ray Fosse's best ally: Scott Hatteberg

The Comcast SportsNet Bay Area experiment results are in:

Scott Hatteberg is not a good baseball TV color analyst. Advantage, Ray Fosse. (On A's telecasts).

Please go back to the stadium and get your microphone ready, Ray. And Scotty, call Brad Pitt.

  1. He's not good..and BEANE cant let got of his Pitt movie..this just reeks of Slick clinging to that fantasy.
All he's doing is make real A's fans hate Hatteberg, make Beane look even more egotistical as he shunts Ray Fosse to the side after more then 40 years of loyal A's man.
    Cant Beane ever get enough?

  3. Hey, lay off Scott. He is actually pretty good. I like Fossey too, but Scott is a good fill in. He will get even better with a little more experience under his belt. I am biased though. We grew up in the same town, and graduated the same year. He is my hometown guy.

  4. On a different note (excuse me), Michael Savage was off again today. I love his schtick and best of shows but over the last eight weeks he is averaging 2 out of 5 days off per week. Just make a note of it Rich before you make a case for him being carried on Bay Area radio. To top it off, when he is live, he does only two hours live and the third is taped. How many people in media make $10 million a year working six hours a week? Not too shabby! Let us hope his health is fine....

  5. Agree with your post 415 Media.
Ray Fosse has nothing to worry about. Their is no threat.
But wait, the Bay Area media, translation your local newspaper, will find a way to spin the narrative that Scott Hattesburg is the best thing since Vince Scully and Red Barber.

  6. To answer the post from 6:33pm.
Can Billy Bean ever get enough?
Why should he? This is a man who has a full-length mirror hanging in his closet, make that his office.

  7. Saw some of the 'Melk-men' today at a sports bar in downtown SF during the Giants/Cards early even game at St Loo. There were about four of them in the place, in full regalia, and they got up and did 'the shake' when the Giants scored a bunch of runs late, much to the pleasure of the 50 some odd people in the place.

I asked one of them if it's true that they work for Comcast, but are also paid by the Giants. His response was cryptic: "Why do you want to know?" and he looked uneasy and then said that didn't want to talk about it.

It appears as though Griggs and Baer are putting the pressure on these guys now to not let it out to the media that they are indeed, COMCAST PLANTS who are given free tickets by the GIANTS. I guess it's common knowledge however, that this is the case. Another shoddy, shameless promotion by the Giants and Comcast!

Oh, of course you've just exposed a high-level conspiracy involving Griggs, Baer, and the Melk-men - which you've uncovered based on the expression on a person's face when he declined to answer your question!

You should have asked him about who shot JFK, you could have exposed that conspiracy too!

  10. Tacky move By GM Billy Beane (if that's who made the move) to take Fosse out of the booth and replace him with Billy's 'Bo-bo,'
(Scott Hatteburg). But Billy's well known for being a bully who has to have things "his way."

Fosse was never a great analyst, but he does know the game, is always a voice of reason in the booth, and has been an identifiable part of the A's franchise for many years.

He deserved to be treated better than this, but I guess this is how a Lou Wolff business operates. No loyalty to longtime employees...do it my way or you're gone! Yeah, like that's really going to help create a winning atmosphere for the A's organization.
This is one of the many reasons people don't care about the A's. They've treated their few loyal fans with absolute indifference,
and it's all coming home to roost!
