Why is it Walnut Creek seems to get a lot of 'Man-on-Street' interviews from Bay Area TV stations?

And in summer..How do I say this ? You can tell the gradeschool blond girls are being groomed for trophydom as they go to school in SHORT daisy dukes. I wonder if the teachers who OK that at that level and age, dont have some not too good reason?

Assume much? A friend of mine from the Creek has a very fancy car, and he may lose his house... bad timing, and bad luck.

I might have made that ASSUMPTION, too, if not for a recent ride through The Creek with a friend from India. As we drove through downtown, he said "There's an Indian. And there's another Indian. And an Indian family!" When we then walked through Target (not Nordstrom), he heard another Indian family talking in Tamil, his native language, and I offered to introduce them to the family. (hahah)
Walnut Creek, Danville, and San Ramon have a growing population from India, Korea, China, et al., who move there for the same reasons as white folks - safe towns, a pleasant place to live, and a good education for their kids.
Do MEXICAN folks bother you in Concord?
How about BLACK folks in Oakland?
Once again, Rich, you get it wrong! I have it on good authority that at least one of those kids doesn't have perfect teeth and actually had a cavity.

ReplyDeleteStereotype much? Ever been to court in Walnut Creek or Martinez? Do you know that Danville records hundreds of DUI arrests every year, primarily white folks?
But yes, if you type in "Walnut Creek bar fight" in youtube, you can see a clip of a 5-minute street fight in downtown WC about a year ago, primarily NON-white people.
More white people in courts of WC? sure,same as in Sweden-for the same reason!...yea,GOBs,HERDS of middle easteners,Indians,Asians,and well to do Mexicans there also..bring your microscope.

Why anybody would deny that those areas try to be one huge gated community is pure apologists.
Not that SF wit it's PacHeights or Berkeley Hills...almost all areas where who has the power and 98% of the money-compared to 70% during the Clinton years..still shows loud and clear.
Walnut Creek is a shallow pit of hubris. I hope the zombie apocalypse strikes there first. I can tell you everyone around them in Concord, Pleasant Hill, etc. hates that place.

ReplyDeleteJeesh! When was the last time Rich or any of the commenters here spent any time in WC, or in "WC to Pleasanton?" At least half the people in my development are SE Asian, Indian, or Middle Eastern. They shop at Norstrom too. There are some very good public schools, and some troubled ones. But it is true that you don't see too many people urinating or worse on the sidewalk. JW

And I did notice one young of color in Pleasanton -if not homeless,he didnt have much..surrounded by three Pleasanton squad cars as he talked to them sitting on a curb....two day's later the poor soul again on a curb as I passed..as I returned ..two squad cars were all around him. I could feel that "We told you to get out of town attitude" was in the air.

ReplyDeleteThese haters didn't read or comprehend the fact that many Chinese, Indians, and SE Asians live in the WC / San Ramon / Ptown areas!
They also probably hate too much to realize that there are DOZENS of CHARITIES that raise money for poor people who are predominantly "people of color"! ***rasberry***
One example... two young kids in Danville have been raising money to fund soccer fields for children in Africa!!! As part of this effort, they invented special soccer equipment that would last a long time in stark conditions. They also donate shoes, jerseys, etc.
The Ken Behring Family has raised millions of dollars to buy and ship train cars full of wheelchairs around the world. Ken Behring has donated between $200 to $300 million to worthy causes.
And one of the richest women in the area, the now deceased Margaret Lesher, donated tons of $$$ and time to a women's battered shelter. She and her husband also helped to fund the Lesher Theatre for the Arts.
Sorry for the FACTS.

A DUBLIN officer shoots dead a homeless man. Like I couldn't have been more pyschic!. His crime? he was out late at night..she decides to hassle somebody I can assure you- those officers harassed him every chance they got..he snaps,attacks,her excuse to shoot him dead. If not for her "diligence" a poor man walks in Dublin-NOW,it's pure and white and wealthy once again...
