I have received word and at least five e-mails that Chuy Gomez, the morning guy at KMEL, (106.1 FM) made a rather unkind reference to the women at Holy Names in Oakland.
One radio guy told me emphatically:
"I haven't heard the recording of the show, but a message is circulating that the Holy Names staff, faculty and alums are going to go after Gomez -- think Don Imus and his "nappy-headed hoes" comment in 2007 about the Rutgers women's basketball team."
Supposedly, Gomez refers to the Holy Names students as "Holy Hoes."
Repeated calls to KMEL were not returned. I did speak to an assistant PD, who did not want to comment. A subsequent e-mail was not answered.
Attempts to reach Gomez were also unsuccessful, as was the PR dept. at Holy Names.
Gomez looks like he could use a little ass kicking. The lazy-eyed, no-talent slob.
ReplyDeleteBut that's what we used to call them...
ReplyDeleteIt's either that or what us guys at De La Salle called our school across the street (along with some of those girls), Carondoslut :)
ReplyDeletesure, we always joked about calling each other "holy hoes" but for a grown man to call the young women of holy names high school that term over live air is not okay in any way. because 106 kmel is broadcasted over the internet, anyone from around the world could have heard that comment and it actually hurts me. i am a graduate of holy names and i do not appreciate chuy gomez's comment. he should face some consequences and make an appearance at holy names high school to apologize. he should also send out an email to every alum, student, and parent of holy names high school.
