You don't ordinarily laugh uncontrollably for the better part of three hours listening to a sports-talk radio show on KNBR, but Damon Bruce' hilarious foreplay involving the max-riotous 'Magic Bullet' infomercial special caused just enough of a ruckus Tuesday.
Best of all, it worked.
We've all seen the famed British-themed pompous host extolling the worth of a the infamous cutter on late-night TV. (Personally I like the shamwow guy.)
Bruce spent the better part of his program playing audio bites from Mr. "Nachos anyone?" You'd first think something gimmicky like that wouldn't work and that after three or four "drops", the bit should die.
Think again.
It worked because if you give a listen, the authenticity of Bruce' laugh made it work. I myself have always laughed my tuchas off at these programs, not so much the hawking of the 29-cent 'chopper or the 29 ginzu knives that could be had for $8.99--no, it's the dooofus' that are selling the product, but like Bruce, me thinks the 'Magic bullet series is intentionally goobey-dooed. (What is 'goobey-dooed? Its a word I just made up that befits the guy with the fake Brit accent pimping the 'bullet.)
