Warriors new logo for 2010; (now if we could only get rid of 'Golden State')

I had heard the Warriors were going to unveil a new logo and uni for the upcoming season, but Damon Bruce of KNBR 1050 beat me to it and posted this on his Twitter account.

It will be officially outed at the NBA draft in NY in June.

Looks as if the new eastern portion of the Bay Bridge is in vogue here, nice picture, too bad we can't have the "Oakland" Warriors, but I'm not going down that avenue again.

  1. I love it and it not only looks retro, but it helps identify the team with the East Bay. It's so perfect, I can't believe it's real.

I've been on the record as having said that other than firing the worthless Bob Fitzgerald, the first thing I want the next ownership group to do is to create a new uniform for the team, one that utilizes the Warriors' original blue and gold colors. It would be a uniform that recalls the classic Warrior unis from the 60's and 70's. I hated what Cohan did to the uniforms in the 1990's (Adding orange? Ugh!) and every time I see the current jersey, it only reminds me of Cohan's reign of terror and stupidity. Time to start over, and the new logo is a huge step in the right direction.

  2. Is that doofball Thunder still the Warriors mascot? Another typical Cohan move - coming up with the least original mascot in the history of pro-sports. Kick Ass and Red Mist have a better costumes. God, it would be great if they brought back Crazy-Crab to be the mascot.

  3. Hope they're not planning on going into the site-seeing business or worse – jump! Nice bridge logo though. But what does it have to do with basketball or the Warriors.
