McNabb-to-Raiders trade rumors heat up; the Thursday PM pulse

OK, ready for this one?

The Raiders are hot on the trail, (reports indicate) for Eagles QB, Donovan McNabb.

According to Mike Florio at Profootballtalk.com,  McNabb and cornerback Asante Samuel would go to Oakland, and cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha would go to Philadelphia.

I called the Raiders and spoke to an official who would not comment on the situation.

A Philly source  familiar with the situation says talks are serious between the two clubs, but couldn't elaborate.

Of course, the Raiders are saddled with the current mega-contract of JeMarcus Russell, but given the fact that the 2010 NFL season is an un-capped year, who knows?

One thing is for sure: Al Davis is a "I wanna win now" kinda guy and if these reports are true, don't put it past Davis to pull this one off.
