Could LA KABC purge hit SF's KGO-TV?; the Monday media pulse

Seems as if the ABC o and o down in LA is looking for a ton of "freelance" reporters, editors, lots of positions; with the network laying off a good chunk of its news personnel and closing bureaus, (including SF) one wonders how its affecting local KGO, (ABC7) here in SF.

I'm told several prominent reporters, (including emmy-winning Wayne Freedman and investigative reporter, Dan Noyes) have already begun utilizing their own cameras; looks as if the dreaded "vj" format is in place, and that like KABC, KGO is seeking several freelancers. Buyouts are imminent.

"The newsroom, like everywhere else, is on 'pins and needles'", said a veteran Channel 7 staffer. (Haven't we heard a lot of this lately?)
