Timmy was crappy again. In fact, I'd reckon that he's now officially been relegated from "Timmy" to Tim status.
I was all set to listen to the Giants popular "Post-GameWrap" on the Knibber show because I looked forward to hearing what Kruk and Kuip, Dave Flemming and Jon Miller would say about Lincecum.
Well, outside of Krukow, and he still defended Tim, nobody said anything. Literally. In fact, a hearty round of giggling was the main event on Saturday night. How odd. How bizarre. Call me crazy but I expected more from the boys.
Krukow has been defending crummy Timmy all year with occasional bursts of criticism, but nothing outside the box. Saturday night after the game, when Lincecum was performing his usual poor act, Krukow sounded positively ridiculous. "I see some improvement," he said, in between a few statements of "concern." It should be noted that all the lads are paid by the Giants. That's pointed out by the apologists who then indicate that the team pays the broadcasters therefore they cannot rip the team.
Excuse me for injecting a reality bite here, but Jon Miller is way up on the food chain to where some criticism--constructive criticism, is not only justified, but expected. Instead, on Saturday night, all Miller said was nothing. Not a peep. Kuiper's participation was to provide a joke. Giggle, giggle, ha ha.
Leave it to me to bring a subject matter like this on Father's Day, but how many Father's Day items have you seen on Twitter and Facebook, (that said, Happy Father's Day).
The Post-Game Wrap is hardly the location for Sports journalism. I get it. Most of 'yous just lap it up and wait for the player of the game pick even if the Giants lose 15-0. It's a booster club present to the faithful every game, sure, but the Lincecum affair is now topic A even on the non-sports domain. He's not the same pitcher. Everyone outside Obama has offered an opinion. Which only further reinforces my complete bewilderment that the Giants' broadcasters, minus Krukow, chose to pull the crickets card on Saturday. Even if you're a Giants fan, that's lame, right? Maybe I'm in the minority.
What do you think?
