KTVU's award-winning, ace political reporter/editor, Randy Shandobil, will be leaving KTVU after the November elections.
Shandobil, according to a reliable broadcast source, has announced his retirement to station officials. He becomes the third major personality to leave the Oakland-based Fox affiliate in the last year and a half.
Last October, Ross Macgowan left the stations' "Mornings on Two" program, and in May, 2008, long-time anchor, Dennis Richmond retired after 40 years at KTVU. Shandobil has been at KTVU since 1978.
Attempts to reach Shandobil were unavailable at press time.
Shandobil has won eight Emmy Awards, Gold and Bronze Medals at the New York International Film and Television Festival, the Freedom of Information Award from the Society of Professional Journalists, and the California Journalism Award for excellence in political reporting four times, most recently in 2003.
