FRIDAY FOLLIES
Hey,
Randy Bloomquist, I thought you had at least a half a brain--first rule: never send out inter-office e-mails--they usually land in my domain..
Bloomquist memo--verbatim-- to KGO staff, (obtained by my secret spy):
"Regarding a certain piece of brain vomit that appeared on the Internet today… Bret Burkhart and Nikki Medoro are key and beloved members of the KGO 810 team. They aren't going anywhere. You know, in Dante's Inferno rumor-mongers are hacked to pieces over and over again by demons — a fitting punishment for having divided people during life. Just sayin' Now, let's all get back to our fantastic storm coverage."

"
Brain vomit?" Clever, boy wonder, that should get you another Sweetjack bonus from the Dickeys and a free lunch from
the mattress man--wonder where the vomit reference came from--you're so insensitive, dude.
And the whole Dante's Inferno deal? God, you're getting deep on me; I'm appalled--I thought you were more of the Nancy Drew mystery-type.
BACK STORY: Burkhart, he of the sensitive type, was enraged and rattled upon getting wind of my item and went directly to Bloomquist to inquire, "What's the deal?" (neurosis sets in)--Bloomy then thinking wisely decided to send out some bullshit to placate BB and Medoro.

STORM WATCH NEWS AND MEDIA NOTES FRIDAY: The
uber-storm was covered heavy duty from the locals; rightly so. Kudos to
KGO-TV which was on top of the whole deal from beginning to end. At first irritating but as the day progressed, wise:
ABC7's decision to place
Doppler radar in its screen even when other programs were on. Lent a helping hand...
KPIX chief weather guy,
Paul Deanno gets full marks for correctly forecasting that the storm would be with us most of the day and into the evening--
KTVU's
Bill Martin not so good: "
It'll be a quick-moving front and we'll be OK after 4 o'clock." Uh,
WRONG! Again...Outside of the roof caving in at that
San Jose Safeway and the predictable all-hell/flooding in
Marin, the storm was nothing out of the ordinary. OK, so
Union Square and parts of the city were without power, it happens. Ask the people in the Midwest and east coast post hurricane how their damage compared to ours...That
Comcast/Giants "
Insider" who said he was quitting from the beat to move on to other things was really more forced out by the powers-that-be because after all, don't want to piss off the Giants now...
KRON's Jackie Bennett is headed to
KNBC in
LA, (most likely)--maybe she can take coffee breaks with ex-
KGO-TVer,
Carolyn Johnson...One advantage for Bennett: at least her station might stay on the air in the event of a rain storm...All you need to know about the gadget man and Bloomquist: Owens kisses ass over a 40-something asshole that has all the authenticity of a
Concord Denny's --Hey
Ronnnnn? That female therapist you had on the other day, Dr.
Tara Fields? God, talk about uncomfortable radio.
Gotta listen to this, tell me if this ain't weird...There was a lot of commotion over at
KQED Radio over
Forum host,
Michael Krasny, and his bizarre take with a guest on the whole
Virginia Univ. gang-rape story, which has now been sort of debunked, courtesy
Rolling Stone's coming out--that's gonna help the cause...The "
staff-meteorologist" at
KKKSFO, devoid of phone lines due to a power outage, had to broadcast his shit over an actual microphone--what a concept! Still sounds like crap, but good old gravel-voiced traffic chick's, "
Thank You Brian" saved the day, (nose growing).
RADNICH HABIT: Sends interns to fetch him his orange sodas--gives 'em five bucks and makes sure they return the change. NO tip, no treat. What a swell guy.
