Ron initially told the SF Chronicle that he (Ron) was helping Laura with her expenses. It was in an online version of the article before that article was edited to remove it.
The original article, LAST PARAGRAPH, said "She said she plans to appeal the decision, claiming due process was denied, and insists her actions were motivated by cyberbullying. Her family, including her father Ronn Owens, publicly supported her throughout the case and helped to cover her legal expenses."
There are seven days in every week. I think there are more days per week than the number of people who are still concerned with anything Ronn Owen does or does not do. He is simply a part of Bay Areas media past. Correct me if Im wrong.
Despite what the Owens told Rich, this GoFundMe does not state funds must go to medical. It was written by the purportedly unpaid lawyer(s) perhaps. Toll physically and financially on Ronn are accurate though mostly for physical. Navigate a difficult time means funds needed for whatever. I feel sorry for Ronn. He seems to be another victim in all this. Mentally it may have taken a toll on him as far as judgement. Gambling addiction perhaps too. So Rich, maybe you need to lighten up on Ronn as your rage maybe should be on his wife and daughter from what posters are saying. You are off base legally if you think the GoFundMe is intended just for covering medical. Maybe a lawyer can chime in.
“…These medical struggles have taken a toll, both physically and financially, on the man who has been a pillar of strength for so many.
If Ronn’s voice has ever brought you comfort, sparked a meaningful conversation, or simply made you smile, now is the time to show your love and gratitude. This GoFundMe is an opportunity for us to give back to the man….Every donation, no matter the size, will help Ronn and his family navigate this difficult time.”
Did anyone seriously think that the GoFundMe money was going toward Ron’s “medical expenses?”

I hope that the court gives them maximum sentences under the law.
