Giants fans love Kruk and Kuip and so do I. Mike Krukow is an inspiration to many of us as he uncomplainingly continues to do his job in the face of significant challenges. Fans root for their teams and remain loyal through ups and downs. No, they’re not edgy or critical of the local team or much else for that matter but that’s what their job calls for. It isn’t necessary to be negative about everything.
SOME Giant fans love Kruk & Kuip. Many don't. Their act is old and tired. Kruk's physical challenges have nothing to do with broadcasting baseball games and he is a part time announcer. Who are you to say what their job calls for? If it's homerism, they are nailing it. If it's objectivity in this dumpster fire of a season, they are woefully lacking.
@9:38- Agreed... Yeah, Glen Kuiper made a mistake and it's kind of weird to see so many people cape up for him, but making a mistake like that is hard to come back from.
Yes, he has a podcast now and I guess he's trying to get back into baseball, but not sure MLB teams will want the backlash of him being on their broadcast teams given what happened a couple of years ago.
Both of them should retire years ago. If both of them are in bad health why continue unless they need funds or money paid is good. and don’t want to retire?
Duane Kuiper is a symptom of what is wrong with the Giants - they accept mediocrity; and in Kuiper's case for over 30+ years. Krukow is still refreshing but the pairing with Kuiper brings down his performance. Kuiper doesn't ask questions. Would much rather see Krukow paired with Miller or Fleming. Kuiper is no Hank Greenwald.
@11:14- Dude, Kruk and Kuip were ranked in the top 5 in the rankings for TV broadcast crews across MLB. Last I checked, that's not mediocre. I think they were ranked 3rd.
Yeah, Kuip may have lost a step here and there, but overall he's still pretty sharp, and can still call a good game.
9:22- I'm fine. Yeah, everyone is entitled to their opinion but it's just weird to criticize them like that when they're still regarded as one of the top TV broadcast crews in baseball.
Big Bird should be ashamed of himself for charging major league prices to watch a minor league team.
ReplyDeleteOh, pipe down, Petunia. Would you rather be stuck watching the Rockies or White Sox?
Delete@9:36 I'm an MLB fan, so I watch all the teams. The Giants are by far one of the most boring teams to watch.
DeleteHahahaha

Fuck Larry Krueger. He can kiss my ass.
ReplyDeleteJust to be clear, what are you trying to convey?
Delete9:45 PM, LOL!
DeleteWell said.
ReplyDeleteLove Kuip and his dry humor. Plus he doesn't drop N bombs like his brother.

Time for a change, and I don't mean an oil change. Clean house with all the Giants broadcasters.
ReplyDeleteI think Kuiper had a few drinks before last night's game.
ReplyDeleteSo? Never heard of Harry Carry? Cubs announcer was legendary for knockin a few brewski's back during his time in the broadcast booth.

Chill Otis.11:14 AM is just sharing their personal opinion, and a thoughtful one at that. No need to get so defensive.

DeleteKuiper is no Jenny Cavinar either!
ReplyDeleteKrukow and Kuiper are cures for insomnia.
ReplyDeleteK and K offer no insights just some BS about ball people and other non game stuff and forget the other team.
