The Real Reason(s) Why Donte Whitner is OUT at NBC Sports/Bay Area

  1. Agree on Whitner. The man read more books in a year than I have in a lifetime. His analysis are thorough and full of examples. He's probably a better fit at NFL Network or having his own podcast .

  2. Lieberman, everyone knows that any story being puked forth by SfGate and some effeminate, anemic looking,skinny-jeaned, pearl clutching soyboy is about a reliable as a used condom. So,Donte told NBC Sports he wasn't going to be their house N? Good for him! A man with integrity. I liked his analysis and he didn't pull punches. When a team is shit. Say it! Same crap that goes on with the Giants. Don't blow sunshine up my ass, I'm to old and too smart to buy the bullshit. Hope he lands well. These fools lost out.

  3. Donte is the only reason to listen to KNBR. His Monday segments with Greg Papa are pure gold.

  4. You are spot on. Donte was Great. He gave real insight into what the player did right and wrong. I did not see him as being angry at times.

  5. The 49ers need to replace Greg the Raider and the other person on radio broadcast of their games.

  6. The pre and postgame is going to be a warm puddle of suck with the craptacular.Carlos Ramirez and Rod Brooks. Poor Maiocco

  7. It's a shame that Donte Whitner won't be on Niners TV pre and postgame anymore. Yeah, some of the reasons that Rich stated are valid, but even Whitner said that NBC Sports Bay Area didn't have the money

Going to be weird not having a former Niners player on the Niners TV pre and postgame show, even though Carlos Ramirez and Rod are solid. Will also be just as weird seeing Maiocco on the Niners TV pre and postgame show as an analyst. I wonder who will replace him on the beat. Jennifer Lee Chan?

  8. Whitner was very good at breaking down the game, players and strategy. As a weird aside, Donte's high pitched, monotone voice always sounded like a cat to me.

  9. Donte the truth talker not soft like Matt Majokeo the clown that says ya-know 100 times a sentence. Donte only guy worth listening to after games. Knbr might as well be KQED radio with political science majors talking about 9er football. Never say anything controversial. Pathetic

  11. Whitner knew what he was talking and never shined away what to say. Gonzalez, Brooks and now Maiocco will be BORING!!
