This is how you know Rich is a true media outlaw: Bay Area outlets almost never show photos of Black suspects or mention their race. I respect that Rich chose to share this image instead of caving to the politically correct, soft-glove approach that’s overtaken local media. The irony is, by avoiding suspect photos or omitting race, these outlets draw even more attention to it—doing exactly what they try so hard to avoid.
So, explain why he kisses CNN's ass and blows sunshine up the butt of one Abby Phillips? A black woman ( of course) and a lying hypocrite? Calling RL an "outlaw"? Hardly. Suspect apprehension photos are easily obtainable from multiple sources. The pussies covering the news are about as useless as tits on a bull. The 13% again. Big surprise! Not. The media is one big incestuous daisy chain that will never break from its copulating entanglement. Like trying to pry apart a humping snake ball. Next month, they'll be celebrating a fictitious atrocity based on the mentally ill minority of the gender dysphoric. Our veterans sacrificed their lives for this?
As someone who used to work in a local newsroom, I wanted to share a bit of context. Decisions about whether to publish a suspect’s photo aren’t about political correctness — they’re about responsible journalism.
Newsrooms are careful not to rush to judgment, since people are innocent until proven guilty. Publishing a photo too early can unfairly shape public opinion. Sometimes law enforcement also asks media not to release a photo if it could interfere with an active investigation, like ongoing searches or witness IDs.
Public safety is another key factor — if the suspect is already in custody and not a threat, there may be no urgent reason to amplify their image. And yes, responsible newsrooms are mindful of how crime coverage can reinforce racial bias. That awareness isn’t about avoiding facts — it’s about avoiding patterns that have historically done harm.
There are also legal and privacy issues, especially with minors or sensitive cases. Every newsroom I worked in took all of this seriously and made decisions carefully. It’s rarely black and white, and it’s definitely not about pushing a political agenda.
6:07, I’m not sure what newsroom you worked in, when you worked there and in what capacity but in my newsroom race is actively discussed especially concern about publish backlash from civil liberties and progressive groups. So we’ve taken the approach of erring on the side of caution and not publishing any suspect photos or referring to a suspect’s race when providing a description of who police are looking for.
6:07 - Oh please. I've worked at every newsroom in the Bay Area at one time or another and while what you say was true in the 1990s and early 2000s, since the woke crowd had come to power in the SF Bay Area and it's no longer safe to go out after dark (or even in broad daylight in some places) all the news people are worried about is hurting the feelings of poor "people of color." (Note: People of color excludes all the successful and educated people of color, like Asians and Indians, just like "minorities" excludes the biggest minority group in the United States, which coincidentally happens to be the most successful—Jews.) They never worry about all the things the people of color are doing that cause the problems in the first place though. That would go against the news narrative, which is why most people no longer watch TV news.
Never understood this either. So you're a dad whose 16 y/o daughter gets raped in SF. The raper is a serial raper and has been on the loose for months and the newspapers have pictures of the rapist which may lead to his earlier capture. But in the name of being PC thy don't publish them. This world has gone mad!
It was probably a former disgruntled employee who had been part of the KGO radio staff fired en masse back in 2016. Cumulus not only destroyed KGO radio but ruined dozens of peoples’ lives but throwing them out of work.
This country is getting worsr and worst with the dems and libbies helping, any country that would celebrate the life of an criminal like george floyd and turn killers like the United Health CEO and the 2 Jewish young Embassy workers into saints is beyond me, yes, the last few generations is without souls or common sense
The waterfront as it was called when I was a kid used to a mix of tough blue collar workers and businesses men many who where WW2 vets that would not hesitate to put a beating on someone acting like an asshole. You know it was over when Bums started being called homeless !
I guarded an upscale condo complex at night by myself, unarmed,no help whatsoever for $12 and be front desk concierge and lobby help.ten years ago,Cathedral hill area.Unarmed but we all had something in locker or nearby car.pulled my 38 derringer twice,an old man just trying to get by....and i see its worse

DeleteWait...what? A black perpetrator of crime? If you only watch lamestream media you'd think you would've thought they don't exist anymore.

ReplyDeleteFor some strange reason the left seems to loves criminals just so long as they are people of color or mentally ill.

ReplyDeleteThey are now, I'll bet.
