Football and baseball is experiencing declining audiences due to younger generations lack of interests, basketball presently is enjoying popularity but give it time, at some point all will become irrelevant due to wokeness (thanks kapperdink) and unkempt appearances (gansta looks)
Mike Grier owns this. Traded away veterans for struggling young draft picks. Their Achilles heel is no defense. Enforcers? Not in this baby-faced crowd. Rebuilds take time and you add/subtract incrementally and not have a full blown roster tear down. He doesn't understand the business end. Empty seats and ice level camera shots can't hide the general ledger.
One of the most annoying things ever during a broadcast whether it’s helmed by men or women is when they’re interviewing someone and they totally ignore the game action. Save that crap for halftime, FFS.
Yes. It is possible to conduct an interview and have both parties offer their replies at appropriate intervals between game action. This is something that they should be cognizant of. The viewing audience should be the primary focus and the banter only alienates your audience. No excuse for established talent, the neophytes need to learn this.
Putrid Bob Fitzgerald and ? to equally putrid Jenny Cavnar and ? is tone deafness on steroids. NBCSBA has no talent for picking broadcasters. It's a shame they bring down the quality of the product by having such ass announcers. 25+ years of Fitzgerald is gross disrespect to the Warriors fan base who have to watch with the sound off. Hire Marc Jones from the Kings to do TV - give him whatever he wants!
The announcers stunk when they actually talked about the game and were even worse when they on and on about Women's Empowerment Day, the ten-minute segment with a representative of Rakuten, etc. I wish Doris Burke had been calling the game, as opposed to Jenny Cavnar and her sidekick.
Watching/listening to that game was TORTURE. Carnar and her sidekick were BADDDDD. I NEVER thought I would want Fitzgerald back - ever and I still don't. I just would have to give up basketball if those were my choices. They would not stop talking about things other than the game. When they talked about the game, they were wrong. The camera action was bad. yet they all thing things when well. HAAAAAAAAA
Hey 3:11pm. You have no clue what you’re talking about … I can’t wait to see what you write about when it comes to the 49ers and their front office in free agency.
9:27. The 49ers are approaching the vertex of a parabola. Their time in the sun has been eclipsed. They have a multitude of issues to resolve. Should be interesting to watch.
Seems 3:11PM is spot on so don’t know where you are coming from. Both Sharks and 49ers are now basically starting over. Purdy will need to scramble a lot when pressured with their lousy offensive line to get a clean throw off given his height. Not sure he will be delivering wins with his new lower paid teammates replacing the has-beens. I guess Kittle is still there and good. They will end up last again in the Division. Last year was not a one off. Thankfully we have the resurgent Warriors.
FYI. The reason the quality of broadcasting might be lower quality at NBC Sports Bay Area has nothing to do with management trying to find capable people. The problem is that they don’t want to pay a decent salary to their employees. This is why most Bay Area news and sports outlets have gone into the toilet. Nobody is willing to pay the kind of salaries that were made even as recently as ten years ago because the media has been downsized by consolidation, which was sparked by deregulation. The stunning emergence of “ smart” phones of “ I-phones” ot whatever else you want to call them has taken away the “young demographic“ which now gets everything it needs off of their telephones. Television has been downsized, the newspapers are virtually dead, and radio? On life-support. The Warriors probably get more listeners on live streaming than they do on their radio station. Poor Tim Roye! He’s been working for the Warriors since 1995. But How many people actually listen to his broadcast? Dan Runowski of the Sharks has been their radio voice since 1991-92, their first season here. Yet is not even on the radio anymore. The Shsrus’ broadcasts can only be heard on the Internet. It’s the world we now live in. If some young person asked me, “how do you get in the broadcasting field these days?” I probably would not have an answer.
What? No Darya?
ReplyDeleteOh no! A Jenny Cavnar sighting!

DeleteWhere’s Betty Yu? She left KTVU to be the spokeswoman for the Warriors
ReplyDeleteOh look......woman, woman, woman. If you look at bay ares news you would think that only people of color or woman live here. LOL

You ain’t kidding about NBCSBA having no clue about on air talent. You only have to go low enough to the worst of all time: Carlos The Suck Ramirez.
ReplyDeleteThat pendejo annoys the fuck out of me and I'm Mexican!

ReplyDelete49ers are a lost cause. Overpaid inflated egos with insufficient ROI. They're done. Purdy is not the answer. Never was. It goes deeper than that.

Delete49ers? LOL! The porcelain dolls. Can't stay healthy, shitty defense.

ReplyDeleteI agree , just awful. One of the announcers kept saying the word "aggressive". Could have had a drinking game if I was in college at a party.
