True, KNBR wasn't announced as the Giants radio station going forward. This may be due to the Giants exploring a streaming option, like other teams are doing. The surprising news was the contract extension of all FOUR broadcasters, as I was sure Flem was on the verge of moving on to the national network and Miller was ready to hang 'em up.
Every Oakland A's spring training game is on 960 Bloomberg. And for two hours they have pre A's talk. The worthless Giants have almost nothing going on the air. So they refused to give the A's the South Bay after Hass saved them from moving by helping them out in 1992 and are screwing the fans by being as cheap as they can be as long as they can sell 11 dollar beers and ten dollar dogs. I am a season ticket holder and have not been to a game in nine years. I just sell them to the suckers on stubhub. Not a Giants fan any more.
Giants ownership are backstabbers. Not only did they forget what the Haas family did for them, they also went ahead and voted for the A's relocation to LV. For that, I hope the Dodgers will continue to dominate the NL West for decades to come.
An inconvenient truth. Walter Haas didn't think to include a contingency clause, whether written or verbal, that the Bay Area could only become a split market if the Giants exercised their new territorial right to the South Bay. It was this lack of foresight and demanding this non-negotiable clause that the A's are now in Sacramento, heading to Las Vegas. The fans ought to be pissed off, but direct your animus towards the organization that orchestrated your misery.
8:31PM I am trying to grasp how a SF Giants’ season ticket holder can make money re-selling. Probably not very profitable given a team likely not even getting in the playoffs. Jung-hoo Lee is fun to watch when not injured but who would shell out for tickets to see the rest I wonder. The Dodgers seem desperate for talent and the little they had last year were inconsistent. When they had Blake Snell for a while, he got the short deal he wanted and left first chance he could. I surmise most talented players don’t see the appeal in being here in SF. Takes more than a fan and player favorite President of Baseball Ops Buster Posey to turn them into a powerhouse team again. I went to a couple games last year and could not believe how people with cheaper tickets could wander to empty seats in the better more expensive seats’ section especially later in the game. Therefore, stupid for anyone to pay extra for a premium seat at Oracle Park and outlandish food and beverage prices. Baer needs to get s clue: broke-ass KNBR is in the driver’s seat here as who else will promote this so-so team albeit when they are not talking basically all day about the 49ers and Warriors. KNBR does not need the Gisnts. Even soccer and hockey could draw a larger radio audience with non-stop action instead of game radio hosts’ anecdotes about stuff unrelated to the action, what little there is in 3+ hours.
Rumor has it a China-backed conglomerate has expressed interest in purchasing the KNBR license from Cumulus and converting the format to a Chinese language, Christian talk radio station.
Was a big Giants fan for over 50 years, but then they brought in the new guys. The smart President and his lousy Manager. Well that went bad and I lost interest in both the team and baseball. I have moved on and I don't care if they leave town too. Baseball is dying and the new generation wants fast action. They need instant gratification. Times have changed.
Yes, they do and Yes, they have. I played Wiffle ball and Dodgeball as a child. Practiced Air-Guitar in the confines of my bedroom ( until I learned to play) and never in my wildest imagination would have thought this would be viewable content on ESPN. Don't even get me started on televised Cornhole and Pickleball.

DeleteBold prediction:
DeleteA's will go to the playoffs this year, and the Giants will barely finish at .500.

DeleteI saw a few MLB games from the 1950's. Yankees, Dodgers, and others the games went much faster than they have in the last 10 yrs.
