ICE/KCBS Has Staff on Edge; Jenny Seelig in Cross Hairs; Burkhart Too

  1. U.S. Federal Code-8. U.S.C. Section-1324. This was brought to your attention when the offense was disclosed. You chose to disregard the severity and potential consequences, as a result of such actions. Rest assured, the parties involved will have to answer for their willful participation in an illegal act, in violation of Federal law.

  2. Tough situation for sure, but it's hard to imagine an America without illegal citizens. I think it was '60 Minutes' who interviewed a farm owner recently who disclosed that more than 90% of his staff were illegals, and he would have to close up shop if his employees were deported. I'm fairly certain this would be a reality for many in the service industries, which is quite scary.

  4. The biggest Question is who tipped off Burkhart

  5. The bigger questions are, Who told Burkhart about this raid? What did he say on the air?
Did he reveal an exact time and place that a raid would take place?
    That would be wrong.
It is not illegal to report in general workers are not showing up at their jobs, parents aren’t sending their kids to school or immigrant rights groups are advising people of their rights to refuse to open their doors to law enforcement officers with out a warrant when their are rumors of possible raids.
ICE has been saying it will target illegal immgrants in sanctuary cities.
    It is no secret.
It has invited or “imbedded” some reporters to come along on raids and shoot video or take pictures.
It wants the media to show these roundups while blocking the faces of agents to scare immigrants and encourage them to leave the country.
Once a raid is in progress it is not illegal for traffic and news reporters to broadcast that a “police activity” is taking place or specic roads are closed, people are asked to avoid thexarea or shelter in place like they do when there is an active shooter.
News media can share and broadcast cellphone video and blog posts from citizen witnesses
    More Questions.
Did the afternoon editor write copy for Burkhart to read or did he write his own copy and read it with out approval from the editor, managing editor or news director?
If so Burkhart and the editors could be in trouble but Audacy and their union SAG AFTRA should defend them not make them the scapegoat
Jeniffer Selig is now a vice president that has a lot of responsibility but I don’t think she supervises the minute to minute news room operations .
I don’t think she will be held responsible.

    1. Burkhart foolishly gave a description of the vehicles used by LE/I.C.E while the operation was in progress. This constitutes enabling and abetting and placing agents safety at risk. No excuses. Zero tolerance.

  8. Speaking of KCBS, I heard Holly Quan reporting yesterday. I thought she retired? Was I wrong about that, or has she come out of retirement and back to KCBS?

  9. BTW, one of the biggest opponents of illegal immigration was Cesar Chavez. He saw first hand how illegals were used by big growers to drive down wages and bust unions. Big Businesses today are still very supportive of low-wage immigration, so they don't have to pay living wage to people who are here legally.

    1. Chavez was the Mexican Tom Homan. Turning in the undocumented, setting up border wet lines.
