I think it is human nature to put people on a higher pedestal after their passing and it sounds like this may be happening with Dennis. BTW I am not surprised at all about your comments on Dave McElhatton. I never met him but he always appeared to be a prince of a guy.
Just let it go. I'm sure many public people aren't very well liked. It is what it is. When they pass away, there's no point in bringing up their past. Let them RIP.
Rich, let sleeping dogs lie. You do come across as sanctimonious especially after the man died. Let him RIP. We get it... he wasn't a nice guy, hard to talk with and wasn't approachable. If you are really going to besmirch him, then bring up his cocaine and DUI arrest by the California Highway Patrol in the early 1990's that quietly went away. My dad is a retired CHP sergeant who worked out of San Francisco and Oakland. This is a true story.

ReplyDelete@5:23 I worked with both of them and thought Dave was much more personable. Nothing negative about Dennis, he just wasn't that approachable .
DeleteI worked with both as well. Denis was a pompous ass. So was Pete Wilson, by the way.

ReplyDeleteThe same can also be said for putting them on a false pedestal.

ReplyDeleteRich I posted a nice comment about Dennis in which I complemented your coverage. Why did you censor it?
ReplyDeleteFor the record-- I was watching KGO-TV when they did a very nice tribute to Richmond on two or three newscasts I saw the day he died.
