The "HE" is Dan Ashley and the rumor is a HEATED DISCUSSION at CIRCLE7/KGO
Ashley is still working under his old deal and hasn't signed a new contract extension with cheap/frugal ABC/Disney.
Even with all that said, I don't see Danno leaving Channel 7/KGO anytime soon and even though it's a HOT RUMOR, I certainly don't see Ama following him out the door.
But nothing shocks me anymoire in this crazy world!

DeleteGod, who cares? They read words off a screen. It's a talent I had when I was six. And Ashley more and more is coming across as sanctimonious...sometimes I feel he is channeling Frank Somerville.

ReplyDeleteIf Dan and Ama leaves, the person behind this is Ming Sze talking negative so she can aim the full prime time spot, solo too. She already did is to Reggie with 11 AM News and only Dion if she still stays after maternity at any day falls into Ming trap.

DeleteI still say that Dan Ashley knows what the heck he is doing, regarding his alleged "contract". Ok, he has been working without one, but the thing is, while he may be working without a contract, he is still being PAID at the rate of his old contract! So in today's market with media people having their salaries cut, what he is doing is pretty darn smart to me! And regarding Ama going out the door with him, I don't think so. Why would she? And I used to like Ashley doing the news, but this whole "Building a Better Bay Area" thing has just gotten me tired of watching him say it. He used to be in the vein of a classic anchor, which is, doing the news without editorializing. Now, it can easily be seen that he has succumbed to the bias that pervades journalism today. I personally really like Dion Lim doing the news, and I even get up early on Saturdays and Sunday nights, just so I can watch an hour of Dion Lim doing the news! Ama never has done anything for me and she can be replaced easily....
