Turkey Epilogue to Herb Alpert

WHILE you finish up wolfing down that last piece of turkey, enjoy this classic from Herb Alpert...
*You can also make a donation to the blog and I'll be entirely grateful --in addition to a full run of goodies on Friday.

  1. Taste of Honey. A classic. The Lonely Bull was my favorite.

  2. Many for get that besides playing brass, Herb would sing once in a while. I recall in 1969, when I heard "This Guy's In Love With You".
Lovely song. Even more convincing, since you knew he was not a professional singer. The song was released in ;68, but I did not really listen to it, till the next year. Also in 1969, Peggy Lee released her hit, a piece of stylized melancholy, dreadfully touching and universal. I was a kid around 15, but I still knew exactly what she was talking about.

  3. Herb wrote songs for Sam Cooke too.
Many may remember his huge hit, “The Lonely Bull”, with Herb shakin’ it in the Tijuana Bullfighting Ring.
No denying it, the guy has chops
