CHRISTMAS EVE: Town is dead and so is radio/TV, we have the
B List and fourth-tier retreads and amateurs working as if there was a natural disaster and only the zombies are left over. What a disgrace but I'm not surprised anymore. Nor am I upset because the crap crowd is not a big deal. You simply have alternatives now like
You Tube, (thank god), the
Internet radio services and good old
TV but even that is
polluted and chock full of crap and garbage.
If it wasnt for the Sopranos and curb your enthusiasm I would have thrown myself out of a window years ago. I can barely stomach 10 minutes of any local news cast or network televison in general. I understand they are people simply trying to get by but the voice and cadence they learned in broadcasting school works my last nerve, paired with there phony concern and stupid expressions makes me want to things to there face, some of them on there face.
ReplyDeleteDub is correct: local newscasts are garbage and a tremendous waste of time. I don't even bother any longer. I'm embarrassed to admit I toiled as a tech in this business for most of my life. What a monumental waste of my talents. It's time to kill the beast. Let it die.
ReplyDeleteget this Rich. On 95.7 today, they have another contest winner making his radio debut(!). Ala Guru and this other guy Shamaree Block. So, basically bringing freebee newbies to do radio shows. Wow. Bottom of barrel stuff. Amateurish and cheapskate.
ReplyDeletejoe shaski who they make the face of the station is a former grocery store butcher who used to call into damon bruce on another station..its all knbr retreads, people who have been fired and rehired several times, darryl johnson claim to fame is selling viagra
DeleteCouldn't agree more. Time to do away with news all together. Maybe just have some good old San Francisco Bay Area FM Rock Stations. What's you favorite old station?
ReplyDeleteListened to 610 (the old KFRC) yesterday and they were playing Christmas music!!!
ReplyDeleteFYI, on KPIX 5 PM news yesterday, an amusing blooper. Brian Hackney said "Six Flags Recovery Kingdom" in a news story.
Pleased that Murph and Mac are out for two weeks! Addition by subtraction
ReplyDeleteYeah this is to be expected, this time of year. Just like when the first heat wave hits, do live shots from ice cream parlors, and from Walnut Creek fountain. It's coming and always will happen.
