KPIX Poised to Have Staffers back at Battery in July

A SOURCE tells me if CBS gives the OK...and if there is little, if any resistence, PIX staffers could be back in the office sometime in July. The move, of course, is predicated that all systems are GO in SF and CAL in general, as planned by June. The UNION would also have to give a thumbs-up.

Numbers of positive COVID cases continue to spiral down and CBS-SF could be the first Bay media outlet to have the bulk of their operation back inside 855 BATTERY.

  1. I hope KPIX staffers aren't in the teachers union, or they'll never be back.

    1. 8:36, thanks for the laugh. So true.

  2. KPIX has done well with the home transition, unlike KTVU, which after more than a YEAR still can't get sound levels and cues right. You'd think they just started doing this three days ago, when they've been doing it for 13 months now...

    1. Frank's pained face and complete lack of personality, Julie's airhead comments and ums and awws, Bill's ADHD weather forecasts, Mark's creepy young-guy swinger vibes ("Coming to you from the vinyl room, where you get a ticket to ride...me!"), audio and video glitches that a college crew doesn't make, scripts that are poorly written and often content-less, a news director who likes to lead with pointless stories no one cares about but are easy to cover...KTVU is a pure joke. I don't know how it maintains its ratings, because the best television news outlet in the Bay Area in the Fred Zehnder/Kevin O'Brien days has now become a de-contented nothing that would not be missed if it went off the air tomorrow. Broadcasting the test pattern would be a better use of the airwaves.

  3. KPIX fires people based on age. They are always getting rid of their older workers and replacing them with kids. Very crooked organization.

    1. Name me an organization, news or otherwise, that this is not true of.

Age discrimination legislation is a joke. It is never enforced. If you're black John and Jesse and Al rush to aid you. If you're a woman, Gloria's got your back. If you're over 40....*crickets*

    2. The age discrimination laws are a joke. They're not enforced and more cases are hard to prove. It's a convenient excuse for those who hide behind spreadsheets to show their power. These people are weak and spineless. Some of these people are VC types who are a whiz at Microsoft Excel. They have lots of money, only care about their bank accounts and have no heart.

    3. It's not a matter of heart. Older workers are often the better choice. My wife, who would never be hired by any dotcom, has to explain to those in the dotcoms she deals with in her job the most rudimentary things, even though many of these superior dotcom Millennials have pedigrees from Stanford, Berkeley, Princeton, and Yale. Often these companies pawn work over to her that their people can't do, but officially she is not on their payroll. Gotta maintain the illusion that Youth is Best!

The dotcoms just make shit up. About everything. And investors swallow it. Because they're stupid, but they need to look smart. Illusion is everything.
