5 AM-7 AM: Two hour news --with Reggie Aqui and Kumasi Aaron
*People's viewing have changed; KGO will spend more time and money on its web-driven platforms.
*Per one Circle7 insider: This probably means more work for over-worked overnight production crew' web-copy emphasis.
*Plus fewer numbers in morning means also less personnel -based work.

ReplyDeleteI sure as hell don't. If I did--if I blared the TV at that hour ("people like it for background noise") my wife and three teenage kids would kill me. At the very least, they'd yell to "TURN DOWN THE GODDAMN VOLUME!!!" (we like to keep it real at our household)
how does Aqui survive? He's an infantile and a narcissistic jerk who ropes his colleagues into his stupid Disney-like antics.

To answer Ben Dejo's comment about WHo watches local news at 5am, I can tell him that I do. In fact, I get up around 1am or so everyday, and believe it or not Ben Dejo, KGO actually REPEATS its 11pm news at 1:07am every morning, and KPIX also repeats THEIR 11pm news right after KGO does, at 1:38am. I really like watching ABC's over night news show, World News Now, but for the past week or so, they have been running crazy reruns of Live with Regis and Kelly, and that unknown Tamron Hall. I am hating that, as I like to watch the news overnight. HOWEVER, that being said, since I have a Roku streaming device, I got the app ABC News Live, and so, I am able to actually watch World News Now via the ABC Live app, from the east coast. Anyway, regarding the alleged new morning show, I actually like that the local news comes on at 4:30am, in fact, sometimes I actually tune into KRON at FOUR AM, because they still come on at 4, and I can get the day's weather forecast earlier. Finally, regarding Mark Felt's comment, I totally agree regarding Asian Hotties! Bring 'em on!

ReplyDeleteI am so glad Reggie Aqui is still there. He is a major factor as to why I watch KGO-TV in the morning. He is a good and capable anchor.
