I can't listen anymore it's become too tedious and predictable. Maybe I'm too critical. Maybe I'm a little preachy, whatever, I have a hard time figuring out what the hell he's saying anymore and I'm losing patience.
Tom Tolbert seems a one-trick pony: beer talk, beer talk, gambling, gambling, and worse yet, long arduous time on his golf game --golf game? Oy!
If Tolbert gets a buck every time he mentions beer he'd have Jeff Bezos money.
agree 100%. He's become a bit of a bore. And is definitely mailing it in. Don't know if it's all the changes in co hosts over the last few years or his brush with death. I think his pairing with Ratto was decent, kept him on his toes at least. But it's done now. I have a feeling he will move over to 95.7 at some time. And he'll be even looser, no bueno.
ReplyDeleteLarry Krueger did a good job of corralling Radnich and keeping him on track. I would dump Rod Brooks and have Larry do the same thing for Tom. Rod's disjointed rambling is what allows Tom to go off on his boring tangents. I think Larry would be more comfortable in this kind of role and Tom could return to the role he played with Ralph.
ReplyDeleteHe certainly has a “Radio” face......
ReplyDeleteTolbert is just painful another blowhole who can't ask a question under 10 minutes. When he was paired with Ralph, he was on top of his game and knew current sports as Ralph followed Garys path and lost interest in his craft. That being said I have not listen to the radio much since being furloghed and now working at home.
ReplyDeleteRich!! Call up and get him to talk about ... "Pussy Galore" of Bond fame. I guarantee you, he'll enounceate (damn, did I misspell that?) "...Pussy... (said like Bond did)" just so he can show his home boyz his beer gut-less tact.
ReplyDeleteI never cared for him to begin with. Low IQ, no talent NBA practice fodder and just an adult kid living out his fantasies of beer, beer and more beer.
ReplyDeleteI'll never forget how he bragged and was so sure it was so easy to hit a ball out of the then new Giants ball park. He finagled some time at home plate and besides his best efforts he was not able to hit a ball out of the park. He was barely able to get a ball to the warning track. He's a clown who has been stealing money from KNBR for years.
He may be low IQ I don't know but to say no talent NBA practice fodder get real. The guy played in the NBA for 7 seasons. Was he great or even good? No he wasnt't great but an NBA team only has 11 spots on the bench. There are thousands of players that want one of those spots every year. He must have been good enough because he was able to occupy a spot for 7 years.
DeleteNow do I like him on the radio? Not anymore. For me he jumped the shark years ago.
No comment on radio skills. I like him, but whatever. Don Nelson is on the record saying that Tolbert played a key role in the Run TMC team. @4:44 doesn't know crap.
DeleteSays the clown (Unknown at 4:44) who never was and never will be. No talent NBA practice fodder... again - what have YOU done?

DeleteTolbert has been mailing it in since he lost the Razor
ReplyDeleteYou hit it right on the head Rich. Tom comes across as immature and at times unprofessional with his beer and gambling stories with his buddies. But what surprises me is that a radio station would want someone with such bad speech. I just never understood that.
ReplyDeleteFar better than your beloved Charles Franklin and Nikki Medoro.
ReplyDeleteA's World....triggered much? Is that you Tom? Ghosting on Rich's blog? Angry little Tommy T butt kisser haha.
ReplyDeleteWhen will they dump Smurfy for Copes ?
