Thursday Nosh; Chronicle BS; KGO New Idea: Millenial Radio; Ronn Owens in Beautiful Lathrop?; KTVU Inner Dope on Somerville/Ibanez; Greeting for Tom Cibrowski at KGO-TV; On Mark Tamayo Item, Yes, I Fucked Up

Image result for Ben Bradlee line give it to the SF Chronicle I'M REMINDED of the Ben Bradlee (played brilliantly by Jason Robards)  line from "All The Presidents Men" --dealing with a guy who wanted to sell goofy stories --like, yesterday's weather TODAY!--to which Bradlee laughingly told the guy: "Give it to the 'San Francisco Chronicle!"

Then I think of Jeff Adachi and the night of his death.

And then I think Bryan Carmody and the police sledgehammer of his home.

Where's the Chronicle? Anyone see Matier? Too busy giggling with Willie Brown.

Embarrassing, even for the SF Chronicle.

*SF Chronicle: home of writing where the Bay Area's best burrito is; the best place to get brunch; Leah Garchik's Marin housewife capers; Audrey Cooper's SF Giants fixation; millennials choice for best cigarette: American Spirit; Journalism in the 415, just outstanding.

*My politics (center, left) has ZERO to do with what took place on the night of Jeff Adachi's death. I probably liked Adachi's fierce protection of the accused which made him an enemy of the SFPD and City Hall folks. That shouldn't be an obstacle to getting the truth on what happened that night. It's NOT a private matter when it involves a PUBLIC figure. And when the cops use brute force to break into a guy's house to look for evidence, I smell something rotten. Again, for the umpteenth time, wher are you SF Chronicle, KGO-TV, KCBS, Phil Matier? Anybody home? Never mind.

*KGO will not go all-Spanish --a rumor that has no merit. Stupidity? Yeah sure.

*Speaking of stupidity, I offers Yours Truly, yeah me. I got a tip from a KTVU contact. I thought it was funny, the Mark Tamayo on a box item. In retrospect, it wasn't funny at all. Unique, a bit unusual, yes but no big deal. I wrote it and posted it and it was a mistake. I apologize to Mark because it was just plain dumb and a cheap shot which was not my intention but nevertheless I'm sorry to both Tamayo and my source at 2, my fault not yours, keep 'em coming. I have to be a better editor.

*If, say, a conservative figure was having a night out with a pretty, young, South American woman not his wife and drugs and booze were present and this guy dies, you mean to tell me the Chronicle wouldn't be writing this incident on a daily basis?

*KGO Radio needs a 30-something host/hostess that smokes cigarettes, wears a back pack to work, has 40 tattoos and pays for a buck bottled water with a debit card: welcome to MILLENIAL RADIO!

*KTVU staffers at your computer who read me religiously please understand I have no beef with Somerville and Ibanez. They apparently have a beef with me but it wasn't me having an affair with the Iranian female intern and it wasn't me that sent racy texts to the woman. Word leaked out to me and so I ran with it, yes, the truth hurts.

Tom Cibrowski
WE INTERUPT 415 MEDIA for the new weekly "Fuck You" award: Today's recipient? KGO-TV GM, Tom Cibrowski, hey Tom? Fuck You!

*Hey Ronnnnnnnnnnnn? I think you should take Jan out to River Islands in beautiful Lathrop, buy a lovely home. Even your girlfriend, Tara, Ronn, would just LOVE IT!

*Mike McVay, the fired Cumulus bigwig? One less guy Ronn takes a selfie with.

*Only pygmy women find the "Ronn Owens Report" interesting.

*Ronn has become so irrelevant the Getty family had to tell Gavin Newsom they'd get a restraining order if Owens wouldn't stop calling for an interview with Gordon.

*RONNN'S DAILY SCHEDULE: wake up at 6; breakfast with Jan at La Cocina (if Tara is busy); calling Copie to have lunch (wait a minute, Copie is suing Cumulus, erase that); midday snack at North Beach Restaurant with Lee Hammer --"hey Lee, I could do Midnight to 5!, Please!
"

  1. Speaking of pathetic journalism, when will the Bay Area get an actual sports radio station? You'd never know the Sharks were in the conference finals, let alone that they played last night, if you listened to the morning morons on KNBR The Only Some Sports Leader. They're still so butthurt about the Warriors leaving that they do wall-to-wall Warriors coverage (including pregame shows for a broadcast on another network) in hopes they'll come back and once again be shunted off to 1050 in favor of the sucktastic Giants, who throw so much shit to the wall hoping it sticks that it's hard to tell who's playing for them anymore. At least Marin preppy Yookla frattard Smurph is open enough to say he doesn't give a shit about the Sharks, while Powlie Mac is too busy talking over everyone, playing with his soundboard, and making it sound like a music station to care either. Sad. At least Tolbert has Drew Remenda on during the postseason, or there'd be no Sharks coverage at all on The Pretty Much Only Warriors And Giants Right Now Until Football Season Leader.

    1. The total number of people in the Bay Area who are passionate about hockey(not the bandwagon GOOOOOOOOOOOOO SHAAAAAAAAARRRRRRKS types that show up on the news at playoff time) is probably over 34,000...half of them sell out the arena, the other half watch on TV.

    2. Perfect. So true. KNBR doesn't give a rat's ass about hockey. If they carried the broadcasts, they would. It's all about money to those people. How can they call themselves "The Sports Leader" when they don't give a shit about hockey? Let's run another ill-fated campaign to get Krukow and Kuiper into the Baseball Hall of Fame instead. Meanwhile the zombies are following the Chronicle and KNBR out to sea. Pathetic.

  2. Audrey Cooper says Rich isn't a real journalist, and apparently she is. OK, it's been three months since Adachi died. Why hasn't Cooper and her newsroom answered these basic questions about the case:

    1. Who was the woman Adachi was with when he died? We know her first name and that she was from Colombia. But what was she doing here? What is her profession? Was she involved in bringing the cocaine into the U.S. that ultimately killed Adachi.

    2. What about the two syringes found in the love nest, uh, I mean apartment where Adachi died. Some media reports suggested these syringes were left behind by the paramedics. These reports come from the same sources who were saying Adachi died out of town. Were they the kind of syringes paramedics use? Were they tested to see what kind of drugs were pumped through them? Do SF paramedics normally leave syringes like that behind? Or are they the type of syringes used by street drug addicts?

    3. Where did Adachi get the cocaine? Was it from a criminal his office was representing or had represented?

    4. How long had Adachi been using cocaine?

    5. What did Adachi tell his wife about where he would be going the weekend that he died?

    6. Was London Breed involved in the coverup? Fair question since it was her staff that put out the bogus report that Adachi had died out of town.

    7. How widely known was it that the city's public defender used cocaine? Did his drug use affect his job performance?

You'd think "real journalists" like Audrey and her crew would have gotten to the bottom of these questions in the past three months.

It's funny how she criticized some of the TV newsrooms for printing details of the police report. Why would a "real journalist" object to the truth being reported?

I think Audrey is covering for the Establishment in San Francisco, and that's why the Chronicle hasn't investigated this case. It's like the approach she took to Larry Baer. Print a small story when the allegations emerged (just so the Chronicle can say to its critics, yes we covered it) and then pretend it isn't news anymore.

YUP. That's exactly how they do it.

    2. Yeah, but the Chronicle recently won all of these awards for stellar journalism. Who the fuck are they trying to fool??? Don't bother Audrey, she's busy watching Giants highlights from 2014.

    3. Maybe, rather than jumping to conclusions like say CNN, she's waiting for more information to emerge.

  3. KGO going all spanish? Great news!
We are sure Ronn Owens is going to love this.

    1. He's taking Spanish lessons as we speak and considering changing his name to "Beto". And he's been seen eating lunch in the Mission instead of North Beach.

    2. Beto O'Rourke is not Hispanic, nor does he claim any such ancestry. He's Irish/Welsh.

    3. @1:53: Duh. Who said he was Hispanic? He just uses his Hispanic-sounding nickname to appeal for votes from Hispanics, perhaps as Ronn would.

  4. 30 something for KGO,? Too bad Shann Nix is too old for that job. She was a hoot while there.

  5. The ONLY reason this is being kept quiet and reporters are being harassed is because this can be connected right up to the Gov's office. Newsome and Adachi were buddies. Whatever Adachi was in to, Gavin had a piece of too (no pun intended). If the real story gets out, the Baby Jesus will never get a shot at the WHite House.

  6. The Chronicle and Audrey Cooper protect certain individuals and business entities here in the Bay Area.
Need a hint? Think of anyone who is liberal and white.

  7. Here is another question the readers of the Chronicle want to ask Audrey Cooper.
Why are all minority new hires, either relegated to the sports section or the the crime beat?
This same glaring discrimination is occuring at the San Jose Mercury News.

  8. It's not easy admitting when you fuck up and it's big of you to do so. There are several shots of the weather people standing together on the KTVU promos and Tamayo looks on a par with the rest.

  9. The great radio hosts make the guests and the callers shine and don't just use them as fodder to crush. On the other thing - what benefit does the Chron get for burying the Adachi story?

  10. Speaking of gross, the thought of "racy texts" from either Somerville or Ibsnez is enough to gag a plus-size stripper with STDs. By the way, from what I can gather, interns function pretty much the same way secretaries did at one time.
